Overview
The Perko 049300699D is a replacement basket for Perko Fig. 0493 Series #6 intake water strainers. It fits the 1 inch NPT strainer size and measures about 2-5/8 inches in outside diameter by 5-7/8 inches high, so it is meant for the matching housing rather than as a universal basket.
On boats using a raw-water cooling circuit, this is the internal basket that catches weeds, shell fragments, and other debris before water reaches downstream equipment. It suits existing 0493 #6 strainer assemblies where the basket needs to be renewed without replacing the bronze body, clear cylinder, cover, or gasket set.
Key features
- Replacement basket for Perko Fig. 0493 Series #6 intake water strainers
- Fits the 1 inch NPT strainer size used in the #6 housing
- Approximate basket size is 2-5/8 inches outside diameter by 5-7/8 inches high
- Supplied as the basket only, without the housing, cover, cylinder, gaskets, or tie-rod hardware
- Made for routine service on raw-water intake systems where the basket is removed and cleaned through the top of the strainer body
Compatibility and fit
This part is for boats already equipped with the matching Perko 0493 #6 strainer assembly. In practice that usually means a raw-water intake on an engine, generator, air conditioning pump, or similar circuit that uses the 1 inch size. Checking the strainer model and size on the existing assembly matters because other 0493 sizes use different basket dimensions.
Installation and service
The basket drops into the strainer body and is removed from the top for cleaning. The complete strainer assembly should be mounted vertically with enough clearance above it to lift the basket out, which makes routine inspection much easier in tight engine-room or machinery-space installations.
This is a practical replacement for owners who have a bent, clogged, or worn basket but can still keep the rest of the strainer in service. If the cylinder, cover gasket, or tie-rod hardware also show age, those parts should be checked separately since this part does not include them.

Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
