Overview
The Attwood Marine 14137-7 is a cooler mounting kit that secures a portable cooler to a horizontal surface on board. It uses four corner brackets and two quick-disconnect elastic cords with hooks, so the cooler stays in place while the boat is underway and can still be removed without much hassle.
This is a straightforward way to stop a cooler from sliding across the cockpit sole or deck when the boat pounds through chop or changes direction quickly. The kit uses corrosion-proof components for marine use and installs with #8 screws, which are sold separately.
Key features
- Four corner brackets hold the cooler in position on a flat mounting surface
- Two elastic cords with hooks secure the cooler by the handles
- Quick-disconnect cord layout makes it easier to remove the cooler when needed
- Corrosion-proof construction suits wet deck and cockpit areas
- Helps limit cooler movement that can cause scuffs, shifting gear, or passenger injury
- Mounts with #8 screws, letting you match fastener type to the deck material
Installation and fit
The brackets mount to a horizontal surface, then the cooler drops into place between them and the elastic cords connect the cooler handles to the brackets. Before drilling, it is worth checking that the cooler sits flat, the footprint fits inside the bracket layout, and the handles line up cleanly with the cords.
Because the fasteners are not included, you can choose hardware that makes sense for the mounting surface and the way the boat is rigged. On fiberglass decks and molded cockpit soles, that usually means planning for proper backing or pilot holes and sealing the fastener points where needed.
Use on board
This kit makes sense for boats that carry a portable cooler in the cockpit, on deck, or near the helm where loose gear can shift underway. It is a practical match for center consoles, skiffs, bay boats, and small cruisers that use a cooler for drinks, bait, or day-trip food storage.
It also helps when the cooler needs to stay put but still come out for cleaning, loading, or dockside packing. The quick-disconnect setup keeps that part simple without turning the cooler into a permanent installation.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
