Overview

The Garmin 010-00703-00 is a transom-mount Intelliducer that sends water depth and water temperature onto a NMEA 2000 network. It runs at 160 kHz with 150 W (RMS) output and reports depth up to 900 ft (275 m), with real-world range depending on bottom type and water conditions.

The housing measures 2 5/8 in (66 mm) wide x 2 1/4 in (70.4 mm) high x 4 7/16 in (113.2 mm) deep, and the built-in NMEA 2000 drop cable is 19 ft 8 in (6 m). On a NMEA 2000 backbone it draws up to 2 W, uses 9 to 16 Vdc network power, and has a LEN of 4, which helps when you are planning network power and total device loading.

Key features
  • Reports water depth (PGN 128267) and water temperature (PGN 130312) on NMEA 2000 for use on compatible displays and gauges
  • 160 kHz traditional sonar with 150 W (RMS) output and depth readings up to 900 ft (275 m) depending on conditions
  • Powered by the NMEA 2000 network (9 to 16 Vdc), with 2 W max draw and LEN 4 for straightforward network load planning
  • Built-in 6 m NMEA 2000 drop cable for a clean run from the transom to the backbone connection point
  • ASA plastic case with a published operating temperature range of -15°C to 33°C (5°F to 91°F)
Installation and setup

Transom placement matters with any depth sounder. Mount the sensor where it stays in clean water and away from turbulence, air bubbles, strakes, intakes, or discharge ports. Keep it out of the propeller path on single-drive boats, and on twin-drive setups the usual placement is between the drives when the hull shape allows.

When positioning the bracket, keep the unit parallel to the water line. The sensor face is typically set to extend about 1/8 in (3.2 mm) below a fiberglass hull, or about 3/8 in (9.5 mm) below an aluminum hull, and it should remain below the water level when the boat is on plane.

Electrical and system integration

This model ties into a NMEA 2000 backbone using the included T-connector and the built-in drop cable. Plan the backbone run so the connection point is within the 6 m drop length, or be prepared to extend the backbone with the appropriate cabling so the drop stays within spec for your network layout.

Because it is powered from the NMEA 2000 bus (9 to 16 Vdc), confirm your network power supply and terminations are correct before troubleshooting readings. If you are close to the limits on network loading, account for the LEN of 4 when totaling devices on the backbone.

Use cases on board

This is a good fit for boats that want depth and water temperature displayed anywhere on the NMEA 2000 network, such as at the helm, on a flybridge station, or on a sailing cockpit display. It is also useful on trailer boats and inshore fishing boats where a transom mount keeps the install accessible for inspection and adjustment.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
