Overview
The Garmin 010-01550-01 is a 3.5 in color fishfinder with built-in GPS and CHIRP sonar, supplied with a 77/200 kHz 4-pin transducer for transom or trolling motor mounting.
It runs on boat DC power in the 10 to 20 V range and is rated up to 1 A. The housing carries an IPX7 water rating, and the 480 x 320 display keeps sonar returns readable without taking over the helm.
Use GPS to mark docks, ramps, channel edges, and fishing spots, then navigate back using the waypoint map and course-over-ground data. Depth capability is listed up to 1,600 ft in freshwater and 750 ft in saltwater, with results depending on conditions and a clean transducer install.
Key features
- 3.5 in HVGA color display with 480 x 320 resolution and keyed control that works with wet hands.
- CHIRP traditional sonar with the included 77/200 kHz transducer (4-pin) and 200 W RMS transmit power (1,600 W peak-to-peak).
- Built-in high-sensitivity GPS for waypoint marking and on-screen navigation back to saved locations.
- Power input 10 to 20 V DC with a 1 A max rating for straightforward 12 V installs.
- IPX7 water rating for rain and spray when mounted at the helm or on an open console.
- 20 ft transducer cable, plus transom and trolling motor mounting hardware and an included tilt/swivel bracket.
Installation and setup
Mount the display where you can reach the keypad while running the boat and where glare is manageable. The included tilt/swivel bracket suits flat console and helm surfaces, and the unit also supports flush mounting when you are cutting into a dash panel.
For best bottom tracking, install the transducer in clean water flow and keep it clear of strakes, steps, and areas that aerate the beam. On trolling motors, route and secure the cable so it cannot snag when stowing or deploying.
Electrical and system integration
Wire it to a switched, fused DC circuit and keep connections protected from bilge water and constant spray. The sonar connection is Garmin 4-pin, so compatible transducers and any extensions need to match the 4-pin format.
GPS functions focus on waypoint marking and return navigation on a waypoint map rather than full cartography, which keeps the interface simple for fishing-focused setups.
On-water use
This unit is a good match for anglers rigging a skiff, jon boat, kayak, or small center console who want traditional CHIRP sonar and basic GPS waypoint navigation without a larger display. Sonar history rewind and the built-in flasher are useful when you are hovering over structure, jigging vertically, or dialing in a trolling pass.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team.
