Overview
The Garmin 010-10225-00 is a remote water temperature probe that adds surface temperature data to compatible Garmin fish finders and sounder modules.
It connects in-line on a 6-pin transducer setup (one 6-pin male connector and one 6-pin female connector) and uses an approximately 25 ft 6 in lead, which helps when routing from a transom-mounted sensor position up to the helm.
On supported units, water temperature can be displayed in °F or °C alongside your other sonar data.
Key features
- Remote probe for surface water temperature when your primary transducer does not provide temperature
- In-line 6-pin male/female connection so it can be added without changing the main transducer
- Approximately 25 ft 6 in cable length for typical transom-to-helm routing
- Compatible with Garmin GSD 21 and GSD 22 remote sounders and many legacy Garmin Fishfinder and GPSMAP Sounder displays
- Useful for setups where an in-hull installation would otherwise read hull temperature instead of true water temperature
Compatibility and fit
This probe is intended for Garmin installations that use a 6-pin transducer plug and support an external temperature sensor input. Common compatible platforms include GSD 21 and GSD 22, Fishfinder models such as the 100/160/240/250/300/320/340 series, and a range of GPSMAP Sounder units including many GPSMAP 4xx and 5xx series.
Before ordering, confirm your display or sounder module supports a remote temperature probe and that your existing transducer harness is the 6-pin style.
Installation and setup
Mount the probe where it stays in clean water flow and remains below the waterline when underway, while keeping it clear of prop wash and trailer contact points. Many installs place it near the transducer on the transom so it reads actual water temperature at the surface.
Route and secure the cable to prevent chafe, leave a drip loop where it enters the boat, and seal any transom penetrations. Keeping the sensor lead and transducer cable away from high-current engine wiring helps reduce the chance of interference around the sonar connection.
Use on board
This is a practical add-on for anglers watching temperature breaks and for cruisers who like keeping real water temperature on-screen while tracking changing conditions during a day on the water.
