Overview

The Attwood Marine Tsunami Mk2 is a non-automatic electric bilge pump range for removing standing water from a boat's bilge. The range covers 500, 800, and 1200 GPH models, with 12 V and 24 V options depending on the configuration, so it can be matched to common DC systems on small boats, fishing boats, sailboats, and cruisers.

The Mk2 pump layout focuses on easier installation and service in cramped bilge spaces. A 90-degree rotatable elbow outlet gives the discharge hose more routing flexibility, while the cartridge-style motor can be accessed without pulling the whole pump assembly out of the bilge. The range also uses Attwood's X-Air anti-airlock impeller, which helps clear trapped air from the pump and pipework so the pump can keep moving water instead of running dry.

Available hose sizes include 3/4" and 1" on the T500 and T800 models, and 1" and 1-1/8" on the T1200 models. The range meets ABYC H-22, ISO 8849, ISO 15083, ISO 8846, ABYC E-11, and ISO 10133 standards, which matters when the pump is being fitted into a regulated marine electrical and bilge system.

Key features
  • Non-automatic electric bilge pump range with 500, 800, and 1200 GPH capacity options.
  • 12 V and 24 V configurations support common DC electrical systems used on boats.
  • X-Air anti-airlock impeller helps eject trapped air from the pump and discharge line.
  • 90-degree rotatable elbow outlet allows the hose direction to be adjusted around tight bilge layouts.
  • External mounting feet and an integrated outlet help reduce installation work in confined areas.
  • Cartridge-style motor access supports faster servicing when the pump is mounted low in the bilge.
  • Backward-compatible hole pattern and motor cartridge layout for many Tsunami Mk1 bilge and aerator pump installations.
  • Improved protection against water ingress and electrolysis compared with the Mk1 platform.
Variants

This range is offered in multiple configurations across the T500, T800, and T1200 models. The main differences are pump capacity, DC voltage, and the hose diameter supported by the outlet.

The service-focused Mk2 layout, anti-airlock impeller, and rotatable outlet are shared across the Tsunami Mk2 bilge pump range. Capacity and plumbing size should be matched to the bilge volume, discharge hose run, and existing boat wiring.

  • 4606-7: T500, 12 V, for 3/4" and 1" hose. This is the lower-capacity option in the range for smaller bilge spaces and installations using either of these common discharge hose sizes.
  • 4608-7: T800, 12 V, for 3/4" and 1" hose. This configuration adds more pumping capacity while staying with a 12 V electrical system and the same hose size range as the T500.
  • 4609-7: T800, 24 V, for 3/4" and 1" hose. This version suits boats with a 24 V DC system while keeping the T800 flow category and hose compatibility.
  • 4612-7: T1200, 12 V, for 1" and 1-1/8" hose. This is the higher-capacity 12 V option and uses larger discharge hose sizes to suit the increased flow.
  • 4613-7: T1200, 24 V, for 1" and 1-1/8" hose. This configuration pairs the higher-capacity T1200 pump with a 24 V DC system and the larger hose sizes in the range.
Installation and setup

The pump should be mounted low in the bilge on a suitable pad where it can collect standing water but still be reached for inspection and cartridge service. The discharge hose should rise smoothly without low dips that can trap water or air, and the thru-hull outlet should be positioned safely above the waterline.

Use the voltage that matches the vessel's DC system, and match the hose diameter to the pump outlet and existing discharge plumbing. A non-return valve can be used where backflow control is needed, but the discharge path should still be kept as short and clean as the boat layout allows.

Use cases on board

This range is a practical fit for boats that use a manual switch, float switch, or panel-controlled bilge setup rather than a fully automatic pump assembly. It works well for routine bilge water removal in runabouts, center consoles, small cruisers, and sailboats where access, hose routing, and serviceability matter as much as pump capacity.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
