Overview

The Lopolight 101-003 Series is a combined red/green sidelight that gives you both port and starboard sectors in one fixture, rated for 1 nautical mile on vessels up to 12 m (39.4 ft).

It runs on 10 to 32 VDC, so it fits common 12 V and 24 V systems, drawing about 1.4 W (around 87 mA at 12 V or 48 mA at 24 V). The FB flat base is made for horizontal mounting, with a Ø92.5 mm footprint and a low profile of about 36 mm.

Sealing is IP68 for heavy spray and washdowns, with an operating temperature range of -25°C to 55°C. Approvals include COLREG72, EN14744, IEC 60945, IACS E10, and USCG.

Variants

This light is offered in two housing finishes. Both versions are the same 1 NM combined red/green sidelight with an FB flat base for horizontal mounting, pre-cabled with a 2.5 m lead.

The finish mainly changes the look on deck and how the light blends with rails, pulpits, and nearby hardware.

• 101-003-FB: Finish Silver. Silver anodized housing with a 20 µ anodized layer for a bright metal look that matches common stainless and aluminum fittings.
• 101-003-FB-B: Finish Black. Black anodized housing with a 50 µ anodized layer to suit darker hardware and reduce visual contrast on modern topsides.

Installation and setup

As a combined sidelight, this unit is typically mounted on the vessel centerline where it has a clear, unobstructed view forward and to both sides. Keep the lens faces clear of pulpit tubing, anchor gear, bow rails, or canvas that could block the red or green sector.

The flat base format supports horizontal mounting on a deck, cabin top, or a purpose-built bracket. Allow enough access to route and protect the cable where it passes through or under the mounting surface.

Electrical and system integration

Connect the pre-cabled 2.5 m shielded lead to your navigation light switch circuit within a 10 to 32 VDC supply. Use marine-grade connections, support the cable so it is not carrying strain at the base, and keep splices out of standing water when possible.

With low current draw, it is a good fit for small boats that run lights for long stretches at night or during limited battery operation. The minimum feed wire gauge is 0.5 mm2 (AWG22).

Use on board

This style of combined sidelight is a practical match for small powerboats, RIBs, and compact sailboats where you want one low-profile fixture at the bow rather than two separate sidelights on the rails. It is also useful when you want clean wiring and fewer deck penetrations.

Maintenance and care

Rinse salt spray off the housing and lens during regular washdowns, and wipe the lens with a soft cloth to avoid hazing. Periodically check that the mounting screws stay snug and that the cable jacket is not chafed where it passes through the deck or bracket.
