Overview
The Lopolight 300-036 Series is a masthead navigation light that shows a 225 degree white beam with 5 nautical miles of visibility for vessels in the 20 to 50 m (65.5 to 164 ft) range. It is built for a horizontal mounting surface, so it fits common mast platforms and superstructure locations where the steaming light needs to sit level and stay aligned to the vessel centerline.
Power is 20 to 32 VDC, which matches typical 24 VDC systems, and the draw is 7 W (about 290 mA at 24 VDC). The housing and base are compact at approximately 92.5 mm diameter by 111.8 mm height (3.6 in by 4.4 in), and the unit uses a plug connector for a clean, service-friendly connection.
Key features
- 5 nautical mile masthead light with a 225 degree white sector for COLREG masthead (steaming) use
- Runs on 20 to 32 VDC (24 VDC systems) with 7 W power draw (about 290 mA at 24 VDC)
- IP68-rated sealing for heavy weather, spray, and washdowns when installed correctly
- Horizontal mount format with a low-profile footprint (approx. 92.5 mm diameter by 111.8 mm height)
- Plug connector connection for straightforward wiring and easier removal during service
- Materials include anodized aluminum, a PMMA lens, and A4 stainless steel screws
- Approved to COLREG72 and EN14744, with IEC 60945 and IACS E10 listed for the electrical environment
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations based on exterior finish.
The listed variants share the same masthead light format (5 nautical miles, 225 degree white sector, horizontal mount, 20 to 32 VDC). The finish is what changes between options.
- 300-036 (Finish Silver). Silver anodized housing pairs well with bare aluminum masts and lighter painted structures where you want a brighter hardware match.
- 300-036-B (Finish Black). Black anodized housing blends into darker paint schemes and can be less visually noticeable against black spars and hardtops.

Installation and setup
Plan the mounting location so the light has an unobstructed 225 degree forward sector and can be aligned accurately with the vessel centerline. Use a suitable bedding and sealing method for the fasteners and cable pass-through so the installation stays watertight under vibration and repeated washdowns.
When mounting to dissimilar metals, add an appropriate corrosion barrier between the light and the mounting surface. This is especially important on aluminum structures where stainless fasteners and saltwater exposure can accelerate galvanic corrosion if the joint is left bare.
Electrical and system integration
Connect the light to a 20 to 32 VDC supply circuit. On most vessels this is the 24 VDC navigation light feed, switched and protected in the normal way for nav lights. Observe polarity and treat the unit as a two-wire DC load rather than using the structure as a return path.
Use wiring practices that support long runs to the masthead, including proper strain relief and chafe protection. A minimum feed wire gauge of 0.5 mm2 (AWG 22) is listed, and longer runs may call for heavier wire to limit voltage drop.
Use on board
This light is a good match for yachts and commercial vessels in the 20 to 50 m range that need a 5 nautical mile masthead light on a horizontal mounting surface and run a 24 VDC navigation light circuit. It also fits well for refits where you want an LED unit with a sealed build and a serviceable plug connection.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the exterior with fresh water after salt spray and check the lens for deposits that can scatter light. During routine service, inspect fasteners, seals, and cable entries for movement or cracking, and re-bed as needed to maintain the IP68 seal.
