Overview
The Attwood Marine Incandescent All-Round Articulating Anti-Glare Light is a 2 nautical mile, 360 degree all-round pole light for boats up to 39.4 ft, or 12 m, in length. It uses an incandescent 9-watt wedge-base lamp and an anti-glare lens layout that keeps the light focused at the horizon and above, rather than directly into the operator’s eyes.
The articulating head adjusts 15 degrees forward or aft, which helps align the lens on boats with angled bases or sloped deck surfaces. A 2-pin locking-collar pole makes it a practical replacement option for many existing all-round light bases, including Attwood bases and many competitive 2-pin bases.
Key features
- 2 nautical mile, 360 degree visibility for boats up to 39.4 ft, or 12 m, in length.
- Articulating head adjusts 15 degrees forward or aft to help level the light on straight or angled mounting bases.
- Anti-glare lens focuses light at the horizon and above to reduce light spilling into the helm area.
- Bottom aperture reduces glare below horizontal while the upper lens keeps a continuous arc of light visible in rolling conditions.
- 2-pin locking-collar pole fits a wide range of existing Attwood and competitive bases.
- Incandescent 9-watt wedge-base lamp suits simple navigation-light circuits on small boats.
- Polycarbonate housing and clear polycarbonate lens support regular marine use in exposed cockpit and stern locations.
- USCG certified for applicable all-round navigation light use.
Variants
This all-round anti-glare light is offered in two pole lengths for different mounting heights and cockpit layouts.
The pole length changes between variants. The all-round anti-glare head, 2-pin locking-collar connection, articulating adjustment, incandescent lamp style, and 2 nautical mile visibility rating remain consistent across the listed versions.
- |, pole length 42". This shorter pole can suit stern or aft deck installations where the light base is already mounted high enough for clear visibility.
- 5330-48-7, pole length 48". The taller pole gives extra height where the light needs to clear seating, rails, canvas, or other gear around the cockpit.
Installation and setup
The 2-pin locking-collar pole plugs into a compatible base and locks in place with the collar. After the pole is seated, the head can be adjusted forward or aft, then tightened once the lens is aligned with the horizon.
Before ordering, confirm the existing base style, pin layout, pole height needed, and the light’s required visibility over engines, seating, canvas, fishing gear, or other equipment at the stern.
Compatibility and fit
This light is a good match for small powerboats that need an all-round white navigation light with glare control near the helm or cockpit. The 2 nautical mile rating and boat length guidance make it suitable for vessels up to 39.4 ft where an all-round light is required by the boat’s navigation-light layout.
The articulating head is useful on boats with angled bases because it allows the lens to be set level without changing the deck hardware. That helps when replacing an older pole light while keeping the existing base location.
Use on board
On evening runs, early departures, and anchor-light use, the anti-glare head helps keep the light visible to other vessels while reducing glare toward the driver. It is especially practical for open cockpits and fishing layouts where the all-round light is close to the helm or passengers.
