Overview

The Raymarine E66082 is a B258 bronze thru-hull transducer with fairing block for boats that need stronger fishfinder performance from a fixed hull installation. It operates at 50/200 kHz with 1 kW power, and it supports depth and temperature readings when connected to a compatible Raymarine sounder system.

This model is built for fiberglass and wood hulls and uses a bronze housing for below-the-waterline service. The B258 uses four internal ceramic elements, giving it higher sensitivity than a basic single-element 50/200 kHz transducer and helping maintain bottom detail in deeper water.

The included fairing block helps the transducer sit correctly in the water flow, which matters on planing hulls and offshore fishing boats where clean water across the face of the transducer is critical. A 30 ft cable with connector gives the installer room to route the cable from the hull location to the sonar module or display area.

Key features
  • 1 kW thru-hull transducer for serious fishfinding and bottom tracking in deeper water.
  • Dual-frequency 50/200 kHz operation for use across offshore, coastal, and general fishing conditions.
  • Bronze housing suited to fiberglass and wood hull installations below the waterline.
  • Four internal ceramic elements help improve sensitivity compared with basic single-element transducers.
  • Fairing block included to support a cleaner water flow across the transducer face while underway.
  • Depth and temperature sensing in one thru-hull installation.
  • 30 ft cable with connector for practical routing through the bilge, engine room, or electronics chase.
Compatibility and fit

This B258 is intended for Raymarine fishfinder and sounder systems that support a 1 kW 50/200 kHz transducer connection. It is commonly used with compatible Raymarine sounder modules and legacy echo sounder systems, including DSM and SL or hsb2 series units where the correct connection is present.

Before drilling the hull, match the connector, sounder module, hull material, and available mounting area. Bronze thru-hull transducers are typically not the right choice for metal hulls unless the installation is specifically engineered to prevent corrosion and electrical isolation issues.

Installation and setup

A thru-hull transducer installation should be planned around clean water flow, safe cable routing, and service access from inside the boat. The transducer should be mounted where it stays submerged and away from heavy turbulence caused by strakes, intakes, through-hulls, or propeller wash.

The fairing block is shaped during installation so the transducer face sits at the correct angle to the water. Proper bedding, tightening, and strain relief are important because this unit passes through the hull and remains exposed to pressure, vibration, and saltwater.

Use cases on board

This transducer is a strong match for offshore fishing boats, cruising powerboats, and larger vessels using Raymarine sonar where a transom-mount transducer would be too exposed or less consistent at speed. It is especially useful when the owner wants a fixed installation with better depth tracking and fish target detail in mixed coastal and offshore water.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
