Overview
The Simrad 000-13287-001 is a wired OP12 autopilot controller keypad that gives you direct course and mode control from the helm without relying on a touchscreen. It sits neatly alongside Simrad glass bridge instruments and displays, and it can also be paired with an IS42 Colour Instrument Display to form a standalone autopilot controller.
On the network side it connects via NMEA 2000 and draws 3 LEN with a typical power consumption of 1.4 W. The unit measures 60 x 115 x 32 mm and carries an IPX7 waterproof rating for the kind of spray and washdowns you get at an open helm.
Key features
- Wired keypad-style autopilot control for heading changes, steering functions, and mode selection at the helm.
- NMEA 2000 connectivity with a 3 LEN network load and 1.4 W power consumption.
- IPX7 waterproof rating for exposed mounting locations that see spray and routine washdowns.
- Compatible with Simrad AC12, AC42, NAC-2, and NAC-3 autopilot computers.
- Works as a dedicated autopilot keypad with GO, NSS, and NSO evo2 multifunction displays.
- Compact physical footprint at 60 x 115 x 32 mm and a weight of about 0.12 kg.
- Operating temperature range of -15 to +55 C, with storage down to -30 C and up to +70 C.
- Compass safe distance of 300 mm to help reduce magnetic interference when planning helm layouts.
Compatibility and fit
This controller is meant for Simrad autopilot installations that already have an autopilot computer on board, including AC12, AC42, NAC-2, and NAC-3. It can be used alongside compatible Simrad displays as an autopilot keypad, or paired with an IS42 Colour Instrument Display when you want a dedicated autopilot control station without an MFD at that location.
Installation and setup
The OP12 mounts at the helm where you can reach it while steering and scanning ahead. Allow for the 60 x 115 mm face size and the 32 mm depth behind the panel, and keep the 300 mm compass safe distance in mind when choosing a spot near a binnacle compass or other sensitive instruments.
Electrical and network integration
Plan it as a NMEA 2000 device in your backbone. With a 3 LEN load and a typical 1.4 W draw, it is easy to account for in network power budgeting, especially on boats running multiple instruments and control heads. Once on the network, it provides a dedicated set of autopilot controls where you need them, such as at the main helm or a secondary steering position.
Use on board
This controller is a good match for skippers who prefer physical buttons for autopilot adjustments, especially when running in rough water, in gloves, or when quick course changes matter. It also makes sense on boats with a clean glass-helm layout where you want autopilot access without adding another full display.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
