Overview

The Raymarine SS164 is a through-hull transducer in a stainless steel housing, with a tilted element that keeps the sonar beam aimed downward on hulls with deadrise. It gives a Raymarine sonar system 1 kW conventional output at 50/200 kHz, with depth and fast-response water temperature readings from a low-profile fitting.

This model is built for boats where a fairing block is not practical or wanted. The housing sits nearly flush with the hull and protrudes less than 6.35 mm outside the bottom, helping keep drag low and reducing interference with trailer bunks or rollers. The 50 kHz beam is used for deeper water and broader bottom coverage, while the 200 kHz beam gives a narrower view for detail under the boat.

The SS164 is a good fit for sportfishing boats, center consoles, and cruising vessels that need a stronger conventional transducer without adding a large external fairing. It uses a 30 ft / 9 m cable and a Raymarine 8-pin DSM-style connector for direct use with compatible Raymarine sonar modules.

Key features
  • 1 kW conventional sonar output for stronger returns than lower-power through-hull transducers.
  • Dual-frequency 50/200 kHz operation, with a 22° beam at 50 kHz and a 6° beam at 200 kHz.
  • Records both depth and water temperature, which helps with fishing, navigation, and changing water conditions.
  • Tilted element geometry compensates for hull deadrise so the beam points more directly below the boat.
  • Low-profile through-hull housing extends less than 6.35 mm below the hull, reducing drag and helping on trailered boats.
  • Stainless steel housing supports use on many hull types, including metal, fiberglass, and wood where the installation is appropriate.
  • 30 ft / 9 m cable gives useful routing length from the hull location to the sonar module or electronics area.
  • Raymarine 8-pin DSM-style connector works directly with CP370 sonar and legacy CP300, DSM300, DSM30, and DSM250 modules.
Variants

The SS164 range is offered in three tilted element configurations. Each version uses the same SS164 transducer platform, with the tilt angle matched to a different hull deadrise range.

The main difference between the variants is the fixed element tilt: 0°, 12°, or 20°. The 1 kW power rating, 50/200 kHz dual-frequency operation, depth and temperature sensing, stainless steel housing, low-profile through-hull format, and 30 ft / 9 m cable remain consistent across the range.

  • A80451 with Tilt Angle 0°. This version matches hulls with 0° to 7° deadrise, where little or no internal angle compensation is needed.
  • A66098 with Tilt Angle 12°. This version matches hulls with 8° to 15° deadrise, a common range for many planing powerboat hulls.
  • A66099 with Tilt Angle 20°. This version matches hulls with 16° to 24° deadrise, where more internal tilt is needed to keep the beam aimed below the boat.
Installation and fit

Correct tilt selection matters as much as the electronics connection. The transducer should be matched to the hull deadrise at the mounting location, not just the advertised deadrise of the boat. A good installation keeps the face of the transducer in clean water flow and allows the internal ceramic array to send its beam downward instead of off to one side.

The low-profile shape is useful on fast and trailered boats, but the mounting spot still needs care. Avoid locations where strakes, steps, intakes, through-hulls, or aerated water can pass over the face of the transducer, especially at speed.

Compatibility and system integration

The SS164 is made for Raymarine conventional sonar systems using the Raymarine 8-pin DSM-style connector. It is directly compatible with the CP370 sonar module and legacy CP300, DSM300, DSM30, and DSM250 modules. Use with other Raymarine systems may require a separate adapter cable, so the display, sonar module, connector style, and transducer power rating should be checked before installation.

Use cases on board

On fishing boats, the SS164 suits trolling, bottom tracking, and structure work where stronger conventional sonar returns are useful. On cruising boats, it gives dependable depth and water temperature data in a through-hull format that keeps the outside profile of the fitting low.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
