Overview
The Hella Marine DuraLED 12 is a surface-mount utility light that puts clean white light where you actually work on board, from cabins to lockers and engine spaces. It runs on 12/24V DC (Multivolt) and keeps draw low at under 2.5W, which is helpful when you are lighting multiple areas off a house bank.
Light colour is 5000K (white), and the lamp is IP67 (completely sealed) with ISO 8846 ignition protection, so it suits wet locations and higher-risk areas where ignition protection is required. It comes pre-wired with 500 mm of tinned marine cable and uses a bush-mount system that takes the fastening load to reduce stress on the housing.

Variants
This light is offered in multiple configurations so you can match how the circuit is controlled on your boat.
The key difference across the range is whether the lamp has a built-in sealed on/off switch or is a standard version without a switch. Both are the same DuraLED 12 surface-mount format for 12/24V systems and sealed for wet locations.
- 980704001: Switched version. The on/off control is sealed and integrated into the center logo, which is useful when you want local control right at the fixture.
- 959700101: Standard version. With no switch on the lamp, control is handled by an external switch or breaker, which fits well into existing cabin or utility lighting circuits.
Installation and wiring
Plan the wiring path so the 500 mm lead reaches a dry junction point or a properly protected connection location. On a switched model, the fixture can be used as its own local control point; on the standard model, route it into your existing switching and protection.
For mounting, use a solid, flat surface and align the bush-mount fastening points so the load is carried by the mounting system rather than the lamp body. Seal any penetrations as you would for other exposed deck or interior fittings, especially in cockpits, lockers, and engine spaces.
Use on board
This style of sealed utility light makes sense for engine rooms, storage lockers, lazarettes, cockpit side panels, and cabin service areas where gear gets moved around and washdowns happen. It is also a good match when you want the same look across multiple zones on the vessel while keeping power consumption low.
Materials and care
The UV-resistant acrylic lens helps the lamp stay clear in sunlit areas, and the nylon shroud holds up well where vibration and knocks are part of normal boating life. With a sealed LED unit, routine care is typically just rinsing and wiping down during regular cleaning.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
