Overview
This Garmin handset cradle for Cortex H1 and Cortex H1P handsets is a mount that keeps the handset in one known spot at the helm, with a powered option that charges the H1P portable handset from 12 V or 24 V DC.
Gen 2 uses an easy-release tab, so the handset comes out quickly when you need it without fighting a tight clip.
The non-powered version is a simple holder for the Cortex H1 tethered handset or the Cortex H1P portable handset. The powered version adds charging pins for the Cortex H1P portable handset.
Key features
- Two configurations: non-powered cradle for holding the Cortex H1 tethered handset or Cortex H1P portable handset, and a powered charging cradle for the Cortex H1P portable handset
- Easy-release tab on the Gen 2 cradle for quick removal and re-seating
- Powered charging cradle is pre-wired for 12 V or 24 V DC connections
- Built-in charging pins on the powered cradle so the handset charges while docked
- Keeps the handset secured and within reach at a helm, nav station, or cockpit mounting spot
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations based on whether the cradle is powered.
The powered option adds charging for the Cortex H1P portable handset, while the non-powered option is strictly a holder. Both are Gen 2 cradles with an easy-release tab.
- 010-13268-30: Powered No. Non-powered cradle that holds the Cortex H1 tethered handset or the Cortex H1P portable handset. This works well as a fixed home for the handset when charging is handled elsewhere.
- 010-13268-40: Powered Yes. Powered charging cradle for the Cortex H1P portable handset with built-in charging pins and pre-wired leads for 12 V or 24 V DC. This adds a charging point where the handset is normally stored so it stays topped up between calls.
Installation and setup
Mount the cradle where the handset can be grabbed with one hand and where the cord (for a tethered H1) or the charging contacts (for a portable H1P) will not be under constant strain. Common spots are a helm pod, a bulkhead by the nav seat, or a protected area in the cockpit.
For the powered cradle, plan a clean cable run back to your DC distribution and keep wiring supported so vibration does not work-harden the conductors over time.
Compatibility and fit
For holding, the cradle fits the Garmin Cortex H1 tethered handset and the Garmin Cortex H1P portable handset. Charging through the cradle applies to the Cortex H1P portable handset only.
If you rotate a portable handset between stations, dedicated cradles help keep it from roaming and make it obvious when it is sitting on charge.
On-board use
On a cruising boat, a fixed handset home matters when you are docking or navigating in tight water and need to answer quickly. On fishing boats, it keeps the handset from sliding around the dash and, with the powered version, keeps the portable unit charging between runs.
It is a good match for boats running a Cortex VHF system and wanting a consistent place to stow the handset at the helm, at a nav station, or in the cockpit.
Maintenance and care
Rinse away salt with fresh water and wipe dry. On the powered cradle, keep the contact area clean so the handset seats fully. Avoid harsh solvents that can haze plastics.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
