Terminate using either T568A or T568B and keep the same scheme at both ends of the cable run. For Cat 5e performance, keep the twisted pairs intact as close as practical to the terminals and do not untwist the pairs more than 6.3 mm (1/4 inch) at the connection.
Termination handling depends on the connector family: tool-free styles are used on Netsafe and AMP/Tyco Toolless Jack versions, while Avaya-style versions use insulation-piercing terminals that are typically closed with pliers or a seating tool.
