Compatibility and fit

The universal socket pattern supports several European plug styles, but it is still worth checking the plugs you expect to use on board. If your equipment uses French 2P+E 16 A plugs and needs an earth connection, use a socket style that provides it.
Installation and onboard use
Place it where the front stays protected from salt spray, dripping lockers, and washdowns. IP20 outlets are typically used in cabins, galleys, nav stations, and inside furniture. USB-C versions work well near bunks and seating where short charge leads are common.
Wire it as a fixed AC device on a protected circuit. Isolate shore power and inverters before working, and have installation handled by a qualified electrician familiar with onboard AC systems.
Electrical and charging use
USB-C versions provide a standard 5 V supply up to 3 A (15 W). This covers phones, handheld electronics, and many tablets. Equipment that needs higher USB-C power still requires its own charger or a higher-wattage USB supply.
