Overview
The Vimar Idea coaxial TV-RD-SAT socket outlet is a 1-outlet wall module for distributing TV, radio, and satellite signals on board over coax from 5 to 2400 MHz. The range covers both a through-line version with 10 dB shunt attenuation for daisy-chained runs and a single-connection version with 1 dB shunt attenuation for a terminating run. Single-connection versions allow DC and control signals to pass on the coax up to 24 V, 500 mA.
It is a snap-in base element in plastic, supplied without a cover, so it is meant to be fitted into a compatible Idea support and finished with the appropriate frame and plate. Physical size is about 50 mm tall, 24.8 mm wide, and roughly 32 mm deep behind the panel, which helps when you are working in shallow liners or furniture panels.
Key features
- Frequency range 5 to 2400 MHz for TV, radio, and satellite coax distribution.
- Male IEC 169-2 connector.
- Through-line versions: 10 dB shunt attenuation; through loss 2.2 dB at 860 MHz and 3.4 dB at 2150 MHz.
- Single-connection versions: 1 dB shunt attenuation; connection loss 0.1 dB at 860 MHz and 0.2 dB at 2150 MHz; supports DC/control pass-through up to 24 V, 500 mA.
- Snap fixing base element, supplied without a cover plate.
- Plastic body with Color options in Gray (RAL 7015) or White (RAL 9001).
Variants
This outlet is offered in multiple configurations to match both your interior finish and the way your coax lines are routed through the boat.
Across the range, the main differences are the Color and whether the outlet is Through-Line (pass-through) or Single Connection (direct/terminating). Through-line versions are for runs that continue to another outlet, while single-connection versions are for the end of a run and support DC/control pass-through up to 24 V, 500 mA.
- VM16306.10.B: Color White; Outlet Through-Line. This format is used when the coax run continues on to another cabin or station and you need a defined tap point along the line.
- VM16306.10: Color Gray; Outlet Through-Line. The pass-through layout helps keep a daisy-chained distribution tidy when multiple outlets are fed from one backbone run.
- VM16306.01.B: Color White; Outlet Single Connection. This is the terminating outlet for a run, with DC/control pass-through available when your system uses power over coax.
- VM16306.01: Color Gray; Outlet Single Connection. A good fit where the cable ends at this location and you want the lowest in-line loss at the outlet.
Installation and setup
Plan the location like any other interior wiring device: pick a spot that stays protected from direct spray, leave room for the coax bend radius behind the panel, and secure the cable so vibration does not work the connector loose over time. If the outlet is mounted in furniture, leave enough service loop to pull the module forward for inspection without stressing the coax.
Because this is supplied as a base element without a cover, match it to the correct Idea support and finishing parts for the panel you are using. Once installed, keep the coax termination clean and dry, and use the same care you would on any RF connection on board so corrosion does not creep into the braid and reduce signal quality.
Signal routing on board
Through-line outlets belong in a chain where the coax enters and exits the same location, feeding the next outlet down the line while tapping off signal at each point. Single-connection outlets are used where the coax run ends at the outlet, and they can pass DC/control on the coax up to 24 V, 500 mA for systems that require it.
This range suits boats that are adding a proper TV/RD/SAT outlet at the saloon TV, nav station, or a cabin berth and want it to match other Vimar Idea devices already installed.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
