Overview

The Raymarine A80281 is a CPT-200 transom mount CHIRP SideVision transducer for use with the Raymarine CP200 CHIRP SideVision sonar module. It gives the boat side-looking sonar coverage to help read structure, bottom changes, bait, and fish off the port and starboard sides, which is useful when fishing ledges, scanning along shorelines, or checking structure before setting up a drift.

The CPT-200 uses CHIRP SideVision with port and starboard channels and a 60° beam width. It is rated for side-scanning range up to 183 m (600 ft), with real-world range affected by water quality, installation, target reflectivity, and surrounding structure. The transducer includes a 10 m (32.8 ft) fitted cable and supports transom installations with deadrise angles from 0° to 90°.

The housing combines stainless steel and urethane, with IPx6 and IPx7 waterproof ratings for exposed transom use. A kick-up guide helps the transducer return to its set position after contact with floating debris or an underwater object, reducing the chance of losing the preferred scanning angle during a day on the water.

Key features
  • CHIRP SideVision transducer made for the Raymarine CP200 sonar module.
  • Port and starboard CHIRP channels for side-looking sonar coverage from both sides of the boat.
  • Up to 183 m (600 ft) side-scanning range, depending on installation, water conditions, and target reflectivity.
  • 60° beam width with wide port and starboard coverage and thin fore and aft coverage.
  • Independently adjustable port and starboard arrays for shallow, mid-depth, or deeper side-scanning setups.
  • Stainless steel and urethane construction for an exposed transom mounting location.
  • IPx6 and IPx7 waterproof ratings for spray, rain, and washdown exposure.
  • 10 m (32.8 ft) fitted cable for routing from the transom to the CP200 module location.
  • Kick-up strike protection with a positioning guide to help return the transducer to its original installation angle.
Installation and fit

This transducer is intended for transom mounting and is listed for fiberglass, wood, and metal hull materials. The 0° to 90° deadrise range gives installers room to match the transducer to a wide range of stern shapes, while the adjustable side arrays help fine-tune the scan angle after the hardware is in place.

The transducer body measures 120 mm high, 73 mm wide, and 269 mm long. With the fitted cable included, the total weight is 1.44 kg (3.1 lb), so the mounting area should be solid, clean, and able to hold position under vibration, water pressure, and normal trailering or dockside handling.

Sonar use on board

The CPT-200 is a practical match for anglers and boat owners who use SideVision to look outward from the hull rather than only straight below it. It can help when searching for fish-holding structure, tracking bottom edges, checking pilings or wreck areas, or comparing what appears on the chartplotter with what is actually beside the boat.

For best results, the transducer should have a clear view to both sides of the hull and should be installed where turbulence, prop wash, and hull obstructions are minimized. Careful mounting matters with side-scanning sonar because the beam needs a clean path through the water to keep returns consistent.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
