Overview

The Raymarine M78713-PZ is a P319 low-profile through-hull depth transducer for Raymarine analog instrument systems. It operates at 200 kHz with a 14 degree beam width and uses a 2 inch hole size, giving boat owners a straightforward replacement or installation option for depth data on compatible instrument displays.

The plastic through-hull housing sits nearly flush with the bottom of the hull, which helps reduce turbulence and drag compared with larger external fittings. A right-angle cable exit helps in tight bilge spaces and reduces the chance of the cable being crushed during installation or service.

This is a depth-only transducer for instrument use, not a CHIRP fishfinder transducer. It suits fiberglass and metal hull installations where a low-profile through-hull depth sensor is the right fit for the boat and instrument system.

Key features
  • 200 kHz depth transducer for Raymarine analog instrument systems.
  • 14 degree beam width for depth readings from a low-profile through-hull installation.
  • Plastic housing sits nearly flush with the hull to help limit turbulence and drag.
  • 2 inch hole size supports a standard through-hull installation layout.
  • Right-angle cable exit helps protect the cable in tight bilge or locker spaces.
  • Compatible with fiberglass and metal hulls when installed with the correct marine bedding and installation practice.
  • Works with Raymarine i40 Depth, i50 Depth, iTC-5, ST60+ Depth, and similar legacy analog depth instrument setups.
Compatibility and fit

The M78713-PZ is used with Raymarine depth instrument systems that accept analog depth transducer input. Common matching systems include i40 Depth, i50 Depth, ST60+ Depth, and installations using an iTC-5 converter for SeaTalkng or i70-style instrument networks.

For older instrument refits, this transducer is most relevant when the existing setup uses a through-hull analog depth sensor and the vessel owner wants to keep the instrument system while replacing the in-water sensor. It is not the right match for sonar modules or chartplotter fishfinder inputs that require a different transducer type.

Installation and setup

Installation requires access to the inside of the hull, a 2 inch opening, and enough space to route the cable without sharp bends or pinch points. The low-profile body works well on sailboats and smaller powerboats where a clean underwater profile matters and where exposed fittings can add drag or catch debris.

As with any through-hull component, the hull surface, bedding compound, tightening method, and final leak check are critical. The installer should confirm hull material, deadrise, instrument compatibility, and cable route before cutting the hull.

Use on board

This transducer is a practical match for coastal cruisers, day sailors, fishing boats, and small powerboats that rely on Raymarine instruments for depth awareness in channels, anchorages, marinas, and shallow approach areas. It gives the helm a dedicated depth input without adding fishfinder features that the instrument system does not use.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
