Overview
The Hella Marine Surface Strip is a surface-mount LED strip lamp that keeps a low profile on bulkheads, under shelves, inside lockers, and along galley or chart areas where space is tight. It runs on 12V DC or 24V DC systems, draws less than 3.0W (under 0.25A at 12V or under 0.16A at 24V), and is completely sealed to IP67 for use in wet or dry locations.
Single-colour versions are available in 5000K White or 2700K Warm White, and the White output is rated at 250 lumens with a CRI of 85. The lamp is pre-wired with 500mm of tinned marine cable, and the fastenings at each end are hidden under snap-on end caps for a clean finish once it is mounted.
The lens is UV resistant enhanced impact acrylic, and the design is built to sit on board without becoming a source of electrical noise. Approvals include CE, RCM, and UKCA.

Variants
This series is offered in Standard and With Switch versions, with 12V and 24V models depending on the configuration. Light colour options include Warm White, White, Warm White and Blue, Warm White and Red, White and Blue, and White and Red.
The With Switch versions include an onboard waterproof switch for local on and off control at the lamp. Dual-colour versions are not recommended for dimming, so they are typically treated as switched lights rather than dimmed task lights.
Installation and wiring
Mounting is a simple surface fit, which works well on a bulkhead, the underside of a shelf, or along a cockpit coaming where a recessed cutout is not wanted. Plan cable routing before final fastening so the 500mm lead can reach your junction point without strain, and keep the cable supported where it passes through lockers or behind liners to prevent chafe.
On Standard versions, switching is handled by your existing panel or circuit switch. On With Switch versions, the lamp still needs a constant feed from a fused lighting circuit, and the onboard switch handles local control at the fixture.
Light selection for onboard use
5000K White suits task areas like the helm, chart table, and galley where you want detail to stay clear. 2700K Warm White fits cabins and saloons where you want softer light that does not flatten wood tones. Red dual-colour options help preserve night vision, while Blue is often used for low-level accent lighting in cockpits and seating areas.
Use cases on board
This light is a good match for boats that need a small strip lamp that can live in damp spaces without fuss, including coastal cruisers, fishing rigs with bait board lighting, and sailboats that want low-profile interior lighting that does not snag gear. It also works well for refits replacing bulky fluorescent fixtures when you want a cleaner look and a lower current draw.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
