Overview
The Hella Marine Sea Hawk-XLR is a bracket-mount LED floodlight for deck and spreader duty that runs on 9-33V DC, so it suits both 12V and 24V systems. Output is 1500 lumens with a 5000K white color temperature, and the housing is rated IP67 for a fully sealed install in wet, exposed locations.
On high mode it draws 18W (less than 1.5A at 12V and less than 0.75A at 24V), with a low mode at 2W for times when you want light on deck without full output. The light is pre-wired with 2.5 m of tinned marine cable, and the assembly weight is 450 g including the cable.
This is a practical fit for cockpits, foredecks, working areas, and spreader mounts on powerboats and sailboats where spray, washdowns, and vibration are part of normal use. The main choice comes down to beam pattern and housing color, so you can match the way you work on board and how you want the light to look on the hardtop, mast, or arch.
Key features
- Multivolt 9-33V DC operation for common 12V and 24V electrical systems
- 1500-lumen output with 5000K white light for clear deck and work-area visibility
- Two output levels: 18W high mode and 2W low mode
- Current draw on high mode is less than 1.5A at 12V and less than 0.75A at 24V
- IP67 rating for a completely sealed light suitable for spray and washdowns
- Corrosion-proof thermal polymer housing to avoid aluminium housing corrosion risks
- Grilamid plastic lens that resists impact and UV exposure
- Polished 316 stainless steel mounting bracket for saltwater hardware longevity
- Pre-wired with 2.5 m of tinned marine cable for cleaner routing and connections
Variants
The Sea Hawk-XLR range is offered in multiple configurations so you can match the light to your mounting position and the area you want to illuminate.
Across the options below, the variables are housing color (black or white) and beam pattern (spot or spread).
- 980740211: White housing with Spot beam pattern. Spot keeps the beam tighter when you need reach from a mast, hardtop, or tower.
- 980740201: Black housing with Spot beam pattern. This option suits forward-facing lighting and other longer-throw tasks where you want light concentrated in a smaller area.
- 980740001: Black housing with Spread beam pattern. Spread throws light wider at close range for working areas like cockpits, foredecks, and boarding zones.
- 980740011: White housing with Spread beam pattern. This is a clean look on white gelcoat while still covering a broad area for deck work and dockside handling.
Installation and wiring
Mount the bracket to a solid surface on the hardtop, arch, mast, or spreader base, and seal fasteners where they pass through exposed panels. Route the tinned cable away from heat sources and moving gear, then terminate with marine-grade, sealed connections on a fused, switched circuit sized for the load and wire run.
Because the light accepts 9-33V DC, it can be used on boats that see voltage swings from charging systems or low battery conditions without needing a separate regulator.
Materials and corrosion resistance
The housing is a corrosion-proof thermal polymer that helps manage heat without relying on an aluminium body, and the bracket is polished 316 stainless steel. The Grilamid lens is built to handle UV exposure and knocks that can happen around rigging, gear lockers, and busy deck spaces.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
