Overview
The Hella Marine FMS is a surface-mount LED deck lamp range that runs on 9-32V DC (nominal 12V/24V systems) and projects light downward at a fixed 45-degree angle in 6500K white. With only 38mm of protrusion and a 500mm cable pigtail, it suits tight mounting spots where you want clean, close-range deck lighting without brackets or adjustable arms.
These lights are built around a die-cast aluminum housing with CoroSafe coating and a wide-spread diffuser lens. The enclosure is rated IP 6K8 and IP 6K9K for dust protection and water exposure that includes prolonged immersion and high-pressure washdowns.
Output is offered in 1200 lumens or 2500 lumens, so you can match brightness to the size of the area you need to light, from smaller cockpit work zones to wider deck spaces under a hardtop or overhang.
Key features
- Surface-mount deck floodlight with a fixed 45-degree downward projection for close-range illumination under the fixture
- Low-profile installation with 38mm protrusion to fit under hardtops, arches, coamings, and exterior recesses
- 9-32V DC input for mixed 12V/24V onboard systems, with built-in circuit protection
- 6500K white output with two lumen levels: 1200 lm (14W) or 2500 lm (28W)
- Die-cast aluminum housing with CoroSafe coating and a wide-spread diffuser lens
- IP 6K8 and IP 6K9K rated for dust protection, prolonged immersion, and high-pressure washdowns
- 500mm cable pigtail for straightforward wiring into a protected junction point
- Approvals: ECE-R10, RCM, ADR/GGVSEB, UKCA
Variants
This deck lamp is offered in multiple configurations that combine housing color with light output.
Housing color (black or white) and lumen output (1200 or 2500) are what change across the range. The fixtures share the same 6500K white color temperature, fixed 45-degree downward projection, and 9-32V DC input for 12V/24V systems.
- 996098001: Black housing, 1200 lumens. A low-visual-profile finish that blends into darker hardtops, arches, and painted surfaces while lighting the area directly below.
- 996098501: White housing, 1200 lumens. A clean finish for lighter gelcoat and headliners, suited to lighting steps, side decks, and cockpit task areas close to the mounting point.
- 996098011: Black housing, 2500 lumens. Higher output for wider deck zones and brighter working light under an overhang or along a work area.
- 996098511: White housing, 2500 lumens. Higher output in a light finish for larger cockpits and deck spaces where stronger illumination helps with line handling and night work.
Installation and setup
This is a surface-mount light, so plan for a solid mounting surface that can handle vibration and regular washdowns. Because the beam is fixed at 45 degrees downward, the mounting position matters; install it where the light lands on the working area you actually use, such as the cockpit sole, boarding area, side deck, or a transom work zone.
The lamp protrudes 38mm, which helps in locations with limited clearance. Route the 500mm cable to a protected connection point and seal splices properly for the environment, especially in saltwater or exposed deck locations.
Electrical and system integration
The input range of 9-32V DC suits both 12V and 24V boats without a converter. For load planning, the 14W version draws about 1.2A on 12V (about 0.6A on 24V), and the 28W version draws about 2.3A on 12V (about 1.2A on 24V). Use tinned marine wire sized for the run length and protect the circuit with appropriate overcurrent protection for the wiring.
Materials and corrosion resistance
The die-cast aluminum housing uses CoroSafe coating to handle the harsh mix of UV, salt spray, and deck washdowns. The IP 6K8 and IP 6K9K ratings support installations in exposed areas, but rinsing salt residue and keeping cable entries and splices sealed will help the light stay trouble-free over time.
Use cases on board
These lights fit well under hardtops, T-tops, flybridge overhangs, cockpit coamings, and exterior recesses where you want a low-profile fixture that still lights the working area below. They are a good match for boats that see regular washdowns and vibration and need a fixed-angle scene light for docking, line handling, and night deck work.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
