Overview
The Attwood Marine Stowaway Light with Plug-In Base is a removable incandescent all-round pole light for boats that need a 12V stern or anchor light with 360-degree visibility. It uses a 2-pin plug-in pole and a deck base with a swivel cover, so the pole can be removed and stowed when the light is not needed while the socket stays protected.
This light provides 2 nautical mile visibility and uses a 9-watt wedge-base lamp. The base extends 3 in. below deck, with a 4 in. by 1-5/8 in. footprint and a 1-3/8 in. diameter socket area, making it suited to clean stern and aft-deck installations where a fixed light would be in the way.
Key features
- 12V incandescent all-round pole light with 2 nautical mile visibility and a 360-degree arc.
- 2-pin plug-in pole removes from the deck base when the light is not in use.
- Swivel cover on the base protects the socket after the pole is stowed.
- Base extends 3 in. below deck and uses three countersunk holes for #10 fasteners.
- Base measures 4 in. long by 1-5/8 in. wide with a 1-3/8 in. diameter socket area.
- Includes a 9-watt wedge-base lamp for the incandescent light assembly.
Variants
This range is offered in multiple pole lengths for different stern layouts and light-height needs.
The pole length changes between variants. The 2-pin plug-in base, 12V incandescent light, 2 nautical mile all-round visibility, swivel socket cover, and 9-watt wedge-base lamp remain the same across the configurations.
- 7100A7: 24 in. pole length. This shorter pole suits mounting points where the light needs to clear nearby seating or deck hardware without adding extra height above the stern.
- 7100B7: 30 in. pole length. The mid-length pole adds height for cockpit layouts where rails, seats, or outboard rigging sit close to the stern light position.
- 7100C7: 36 in. pole length. The longest option places the all-round light higher above the deck, which can help on boats with taller aft obstructions.
Installation and setup
Mount the base on a flat deck surface with clearance for the 3 in. below-deck extension and for wiring to the boat's 12V circuit. The three countersunk mounting holes accept #10 fasteners, which helps keep the installation low and tidy around the stern or aft deck.
Compatibility and use
This light is a practical fit for small powerboats, fishing boats, runabouts, and other vessels using a removable all-round stern or anchor light rather than a fixed masthead-style fixture. Confirm the selected pole length gives the lens an unobstructed 360-degree view from the mounting position, especially around engines, folded bimini frames, rod holders, and raised seating.
