Overview
The Victron Energy Quattro is a 120V inverter/charger for marine AC power systems that need battery charging, inverter output, and automatic source switching in one unit. It is available here for 24V and 48V battery banks, with 3000VA or 5000VA inverter ratings depending on the selected variant.
The Quattro accepts two independent AC inputs, such as shore power and a generator, and automatically connects to the active source. Its main AC output has no-break transfer and can take over in less than 20 ms when shore or generator power is lost, helping keep sensitive onboard electronics powered during source changes.
This unit belongs in a dry, protected electrical compartment rather than an exposed deck or cockpit location. The enclosure is aluminium with IP21 protection, and the 120V models use VE.Bus communication for system integration, monitoring, and multi-unit configurations.

Variants
The Quattro 120V range here is offered in 24V and 48V battery-bank versions, with 3000VA and 5000VA power ratings. The selected configuration also changes the charger output: 35A on the 48V 3000VA model, 70A on 48V 5000VA models, and 120A on the 24V 5000VA model.
Across these 120V configurations, the AC input range is 90 to 140 VAC at 55 to 65 Hz, and the inverter output is 120 VAC at 60 Hz. The enclosure rating remains IP21, so the mounting location should be inside a protected equipment space with enough airflow around the unit.
- QUA245023110: 24V battery voltage, 5000VA power rating, certification status unconfirmed. This version fits a 24V DC house bank and uses the 120A charger output found on the 24V 5000VA model.
- QUA483021100: 48V battery voltage, 3000VA power rating, certification status unconfirmed. This version suits a 48V DC system where the 3000VA inverter class and 35A charger output match the vessel load plan.
- QUA485021100: 48V battery voltage, 5000VA power rating, certification status unconfirmed. This version keeps the 48V DC architecture while moving up to the 5000VA inverter class and 70A charger output.
- QUA482501102: 48V battery voltage, 5000VA power rating, UL certification. This version is the 48V 5000VA UL configuration for installations where UL certification is part of the requirement.
Installation and setup
Plan the installation around battery-cable length, AC distribution access, airflow, and future service work. The 3000VA model uses screw terminals for the 120V AC connection, while the 5000VA models use M6 bolts; battery connections use four M8 bolts with two positive and two negative connections.
On boats with both shore power and a generator, the two AC inputs simplify source handling because the Quattro can select the active supply automatically. The second AC output is useful for circuits such as a water heater or air-conditioning load when those loads should run only while external AC is present.
System integration
For monitoring and control, the Quattro can be used with Victron control panels and GX devices such as Cerbo GX as part of a wider onboard power system. This matters on vessels that already combine battery monitoring, solar charging, generator start control, or remote access through a Victron setup.
This product family is a good match for cruising boats, workboats, and fishing vessels that run meaningful AC loads away from the dock but still need controlled charging from shore power or generator power.
