Overview
The Garmin LakeVü g3 is a U.S. inland-lakes electronic chart that loads onto compatible Garmin chartplotters and fishfinders. It blends Garmin and Navionics content, covering more than 17,000 lakes with up to 1-foot contours on mapped waters, so you can read the bottom shape and breaklines without squinting at tight contour stacks.
Beyond the base contour mapping, it adds tools that matter when you are picking a line to a waypoint or working structure. Depth Range Shading can highlight your target depth across up to 10 ranges, Shallow Water Shading lets you mark areas you want to avoid at a user-set depth, and Auto Guidance can calculate a suggested path based on the depth and overhead clearance you enter on supported units.
LakeVü g3 Ultra versions build on the same base mapping and add extra map views such as high-resolution relief shading and 3D MarinerEye and FishEye perspectives, plus features like Dynamic Lake Level, satellite imagery, sonar imagery, and surface and side scan photos where your chartplotter supports them.

Variants
This product line is offered in multiple configurations that vary by chart version and delivery format. Versions include LakeVü g3, plus LakeVü g3 Ultra in U.S. East and U.S. West coverage.
Format varies between SD Card and Download. Download versions are installed using Garmin Express, while SD Card versions are used by inserting the card into a compatible chartplotter and keeping it in place while you run the chart.
Compatibility and fit
These charts are for compatible Garmin chartplotters and sounders that accept Garmin map cards and support LakeVü g3 cartography. Some advanced views and overlays, especially the LakeVü g3 Ultra features like 3D views and imagery layers, depend on the specific chartplotter model and software level.
If your unit uses a microSD slot, make sure the format you select matches the card type your device accepts, or that you have the appropriate adapter required by your hardware.
Coverage notes for U.S. East and U.S. West
For LakeVü g3 Ultra U.S. East, coverage includes more than 11,500 HD lakes with up to 1-foot contours and more than 100 Garmin Elite survey lakes. For LakeVü g3 Ultra U.S. West, coverage includes more than 5,900 HD lakes with up to 1-foot contours and more than 75 Garmin Elite survey lakes.
Use on board
This chart line is a strong match for freshwater anglers who want contour detail for following breaklines, humps, channels, and flats, and for inland cruisers who want clearer lake mapping when moving between ramps, marinas, and anchor spots. It is intended for lakes and inland waters rather than coastal or offshore navigation.
Care and storage
Treat the card like onboard electronics. Keep it dry, protect it from salt spray, and store it in a case when it is not in the chartplotter. If the contacts get damp or dirty, let the card dry fully and wipe it gently before reinstalling.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
