Overview
The Garmin Mast Cable is the in-mast cable run that links a gWind or gWind Race transducer at the masthead to your wiring run below. It is offered in 25 m and 40 m (131 ft) lengths to match different mast heights and where the cable exits the spar.
On a sailboat, this is the piece that lets you keep the wind sensor connection routed up the mast instead of relying on short leads. When checking fit, measure the full path from the transducer location down to the mast base, then allow extra slack for a service loop and any below-deck routing to your instruments.
Key features
- Made to connect Garmin gWind and gWind Race wind transducers through a mast run
- Two length options to match real-world mast heights and routing paths: 25 m and 40 m (131 ft)
- Intended for routing up the mast for a clean, tucked-away cable run
- Extra reach to get from the masthead to the mast exit point and continue toward your electronics location
- Supports a continuous mast run so you can keep wiring tidy and avoid extra junctions along the spar
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations to suit different mast heights and cable routing plans.
The primary difference between variants is cable length. Both versions are used to connect gWind and gWind Race transducers.
- 010-12117-05: Length 40 m (131 ft). Useful when the run needs extra reach for taller masts or when wiring continues farther below decks.
- 010-12117-04: Length 25 m. A shorter option for masts and layouts where the connection point is closer to the mast base.
Installation and routing
Plan the cable path before pulling it through the spar. A messenger line inside the mast makes the job simpler, especially if the mast is stepped and you are working through existing exit holes.
Protect the cable anywhere it passes through an exit slot or deck opening. Grommets and chafe protection matter on a mast run because vibration and movement over time can wear insulation if the cable is left against sharp edges.
Leave a little slack at the masthead for service and to accommodate mast movement, then secure the run so it does not slap inside the mast in a seaway.
Compatibility and fit
This mast cable is for Garmin gWind and gWind Race transducer installations. Confirm your transducer model and make sure the connectors at the masthead and at the lower end match the rest of your setup.
If your installation includes a disconnect at the mast base for stepping and unstepping, verify the connector style and mating parts in your system so the mast cable can be separated cleanly without stressing the wiring.
On-board use
This cable is a good match for cruising and racing sailboats running a gWind or gWind Race sensor at the masthead and wanting a straightforward mast wiring run. It is also helpful on boats that step the mast seasonally, where a clean, well-supported mast cable run makes re-rigging easier and more consistent.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
