Overview
The Simrad 000-13284-001 is a ForwardScan long-stem thru-hull transducer kit that shows a 2D view of the bottom in front of your boat so you can judge shoaling water before you get there. It runs at 180 kHz and is meant to sit alongside a standard 200 kHz depth or fishfinding setup with less chance of cross-talk.
Forward-looking range is depth-dependent: you typically see 4 to 5 times your current depth ahead, with up to 8 times your current depth possible in good conditions. On compatible displays, the forward view can be paired with chart overlay so the depth trend ahead of the bow is easier to relate to your course.
Key features
- 180 kHz operation to help reduce interference when a 200 kHz transducer is already installed
- Forward-looking bottom view that generally reaches 4 to 5 times the current depth, with up to 8 times under ideal conditions
- Long-stem sleeve and fairing block geometry intended for thicker hulls and steeper deadrise angles
- Through-hull sleeve supports hull thickness up to 47.6 mm (1 7/8 in) and deadrise up to 28 degrees when used with the fairing block
- Self-closing valve in the sleeve lets the transducer be removed and reinserted while the boat is in the water for service or protection
- Connects to the StructureScan HD port on compatible Simrad displays or sounder modules
- Built-in water temperature sensor
Compatibility and system integration
This transducer connects to a StructureScan HD port on compatible Simrad displays or sounder modules. In many installs it uses the StructureScan connection on a SonarHub or an NSS evo2, which keeps a separate sonar input available for a dedicated depth or fishfinding transducer.
ForwardScan is a forward bottom-tracking view rather than a traditional fishfinding presentation, so it is commonly used as a second sonar source when running shallow channels, approaching sandbars, or easing into unfamiliar anchorages.
Installation and fit
This is a thru-hull installation that uses a long-stem stainless steel sleeve and a fairing block to align the transducer on hulls with more thickness or deadrise. Plan the location where water flow stays clean and relatively bubble-free at speed, and where the sensor will not be struck during hauling, trailering, or storage.
The sleeve-and-valve setup is built for practical maintenance: the transducer can be pulled and reinserted on the water, and a blanking plug is used when the transducer is removed.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
