Overview
The Garmin Navionics+ NSAF002R (Africa, South) is an electronic chart region for compatible Garmin chartplotters, covering the southern Africa coastline from Namibe, Angola to the Zambezi Delta in Mozambique.
This coverage is offered as Garmin Navionics+ or Garmin Navionics Vision+ cartography, delivered either on microSD/SD media or as a download you install to a microSD/SD card with Garmin Express. A one-year subscription is included and must be activated before you can pull daily chart updates and downloadable features.
For day-to-day navigation, it supports layers such as depth range shading with up to 10 target ranges and SonarChart contours with detail down to 1 ft (0.5 m) where chart data supports it. Auto Guidance+ route suggestions are available on compatible chartplotter models and use your boat settings and chart data, so the route still needs to be checked against conditions and local requirements.
Key features
- Africa, South coverage from Namibe, Angola to the Zambezi Delta in Mozambique, including key ports in South Africa and Mozambique plus offshore island groups in the region.
- One-year chart subscription included for daily updates and downloadable features after activation.
- Depth range shading with up to 10 selectable target depth bands, plus shallow-water shading you set to your own limit.
- SonarChart layer with bathymetric detail down to 1 ft (0.5 m) where available for the covered waters.
- Auto Guidance+ suggested dock-to-dock routing on compatible chartplotters, based on your vessel settings and chart data.
- Available as a preloaded microSD/SD card (with SD adapter) or as a download installed to a microSD/SD card via Garmin Express; one chart installs per card for download installs.
Variants
This chart region is offered in multiple configurations, with differences in chart version (Garmin Navionics+ vs Garmin Navionics Vision+) and delivery format (microSD/SD vs download).
The coverage area remains the Africa, South region across the range. Garmin Navionics Vision+ adds premium map layers such as high-resolution relief shading and high-resolution satellite imagery.
- 010-C1225-20: Version Garmin Navionics+ in microSD/SD format. The chart comes preloaded on the card for use in a chartplotter with a compatible card slot.
- 010-D1827-20: Version Garmin Navionics+ in download format. The chart is installed to a microSD/SD card using Garmin Express for use in a registered compatible chartplotter.
- 010-C1225-00: Version Garmin Navionics Vision+ in microSD/SD format. This adds premium layers on top of the same region coverage, with the chart preloaded on the card.
- 010-D1827-00: Version Garmin Navionics Vision+ in download format. The premium Vision+ content is installed to a microSD/SD card with Garmin Express for the registered chartplotter.
Coverage and planning notes
Coverage spans the southern Africa coastline and commonly traveled approaches, with detailed areas around major ports such as Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London and Durban in South Africa, plus Maputo in Mozambique. Offshore island coverage includes groups such as Tristan da Cunha, St. Helena, Gough Island and the Prince Edward Islands.
This is a good match for coastal cruisers, delivery crews and anglers running Namibia, South Africa and Mozambique waters who want current chart layers for route planning, depth awareness and fishing structure workups.
Installation, activation and updates
For microSD/SD versions, insert the card into the chartplotter to access the chart and follow the prompts to activate the included subscription. Daily updates and downloadable features are not available until activation is complete.
For download versions, Garmin Express installs the chart to a microSD/SD card for the registered chartplotter. Keep one chart per card for download installs, label the card clearly, and leave it in the plotter during normal use.
Updates can be handled through ActiveCaptain on compatible systems or through Garmin Express, depending on your setup. After the included year, the subscription can be renewed if you want to keep receiving daily updates and downloadable content.
Compatibility and fit
Confirm your chartplotter supports Garmin Navionics+ or Garmin Navionics Vision+ cartography for this region and has a microSD/SD slot available. If you run multiple chart cards onboard, plan where the chart card will live so it stays protected from spray and stays seated when the boat is pounding.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
