Overview

The B&G N2K Wind Mast Cable is a mast-run network cable that connects a SimNet wind sensor to a NMEA 2000 backbone using a Micro-C male connector on the network side.

It is offered in 20 m (66 ft) and 35 m (115 ft) lengths to cover common masthead-to-deck routing, including the extra slack most installs need for service loops at the mast base and clean routing to your NMEA 2000 T-connector.

Variants

This cable is offered in multiple lengths to match mast height and the routing path from masthead to the NMEA 2000 backbone.

Both versions use a Micro-C male connector on the NMEA 2000 side and a SimNet connector on the mast sensor side.

• 000-10757-001: Length 20 m (66 ft). A practical choice for many mid-size rigs when the cable run is fairly direct and you still want a little slack for service loops.
• 000-10758-001: Length 35 m (115 ft). Better suited to taller masts or installs where the route adds distance through deck glands, conduits, and longer interior runs to the backbone.

Compatibility and fit

This mast cable is meant for wind sensor installations where the masthead side uses a SimNet connection and the vessel network side is NMEA 2000 with Micro-C fittings. Confirm the connector style at your wind sensor and at your backbone drop before ordering, especially if your boat has been updated over the years with a mix of legacy SimNet and newer Micro-C cabling.

Installation and routing

Plan the route so the cable is protected from chafe inside the mast and supported at entry and exit points. Leave a service loop at the mast base for stepping and unstepping, and avoid tight bends near the connectors so the cable jacket is not stressed when the rig works under load.

At the deck, use a proper watertight pass-through or gland sized for the cable and secure the run so it cannot pump water into the boat. Once below decks, bring the Micro-C end to a NMEA 2000 T-connector at the backbone rather than plugging it into a spur chain.

Network notes

This is a data cable for a NMEA 2000 wind sensor connection. Your NMEA 2000 network still needs correct backbone power and proper termination at both ends to keep wind data stable underway, especially on boats that see vibration and frequent washdowns.

Maintenance and care

Check connector ends during seasonal rig inspections. Keep contacts clean and dry, support the cable so it cannot rub on sharp mast hardware, and re-secure any strain relief at the masthead and mast base if you service the wind sensor.
