Overview
The Vimar 8000 Series is a range of RJ45 Netsafe outlets for fixed data and telecommunication points in the 8000 device line. Across the listed versions, the common format is an RJ45 8(8) modular jack with T568A/B universal wiring, while the range covers Cat. 6 UTP with 110 termination, Cat. 5e UTP in a tool-free special module, and Cat. 5e FTP with 110 termination.
On a boat, this type of outlet is used when you want a clean panel-mounted network point at the helm, nav station, cabin, or equipment locker instead of leaving a loose cable end. The main fit checks are the network category, whether the run is shielded or unshielded, and whether the installation is being terminated with a 110-style tool or with the special tool-free version.
Key features
- RJ45 8(8) modular outlet format for fixed data and telecommunication terminations

- Cable compatibility changes by version, with the Cat. 6 UTP model accepting round and flat cable and the Cat. 5e models intended for round cable
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations within the same 8000 Series Netsafe RJ45 family.
The differences between variants are the cable category, shielding, and termination style. Across the three versions, the common points are the RJ45 8(8) interface and T568A/B universal wiring.
- VM08459.6: Port RJ45 Cat6 Netsafe UTP 110. This is the unshielded Cat. 6 version with 110-type insulation-piercing terminals, and it is the only listed option that accepts both round and flat cable.
- VM08459.11: Port RJ45 Cat5e Netsafe UTP. This is the unshielded Cat. 5e special module with insulation-piercing terminals without tool use, intended for round cable.
- VM08459.5: Port RJ45 Cat5e Netsafe FTP 110. This is the shielded Cat. 5e version with 110-type insulation-piercing terminals for round cable runs.
Compatibility and fit
These outlets belong to the Vimar 8000 device range, so mechanical fit should be checked against the matching 8000 mounting and cover arrangement already installed on the vessel. For refits, it is worth confirming the cable type behind the panel before ordering, because the three versions do not share the same shielding or termination method.
Installation and setup
All listed versions use T568A/B wiring, which helps when the boat already has a defined structured cabling scheme. The two 110 variants require a special tool for termination, while the Cat. 5e UTP special module does not, so the installation approach should match the tools and practice being used on board.
Use on board
This range suits boats that need tidy fixed RJ45 points as part of an onboard data or telecommunication run, especially where the panel already uses Vimar 8000 devices. It fits new installations and refits where category, shielding, and termination style need to line up with the rest of the cabling plan.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
