Overview
The Raymarine Axiom 2 12 is a 12-inch multifunction chartplotter for helm stations that need a large touchscreen, fast chart handling, and room to expand into sonar, radar, video, engine data, and NMEA 2000 networks. It runs Raymarine LightHouse OS on a 6-core processor and uses a 12-inch WXGA 1280 x 800 IPS display with 1800 nits of brightness, which helps keep navigation pages readable in open cockpits and bright daylight.
The unit is built around a 12 V dc electrical system, with an 8 V dc to 16 V dc operating range, a 7 A fuse rating, and NMEA 2000 connectivity through the DeviceNet connector built into the power cable. For networked installations, it includes Gigabit RayNet Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, one MicroSDXC card slot, 64 GB of internal storage, and an internal GNSS receiver compatible with GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou.
Axiom 2 12 can be configured as a chartplotter-only display or as an Axiom 2 RV package with built-in RealVision 3D sonar. RV configurations add support for SideVision, DownVision, RealVision 3D, and high CHIRP sonar, making the same display suitable for navigation, fishing, route planning, and system control from one helm screen.
Key features
- 12-inch WXGA 1280 x 800 IPS touchscreen with 1800 nits of brightness for daylight viewing at the helm.
- LightHouse OS with a 6-core processor for quick chart redraws, route work, and split-screen use.
- IPX6 and IPX7 waterproof rating for exposed helm locations, spray, rain, and regular washdowns.
- 8 V dc to 16 V dc operating range for 12 V marine electrical systems, with a 7 A fuse rating.
- Gigabit RayNet Ethernet for connecting compatible displays, radar, sonar, and video sources.
- NMEA 2000 connection through the DeviceNet connector built into the power cable for vessel data integration.
- Internal GNSS receiver with GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou compatibility for chartplotter positioning.
- RV sonar configurations include RealVision 3D, SideVision, DownVision, and high CHIRP sonar capability.
- Compatible chart support includes Raymarine LightHouse Charts, Navionics, C-MAP, Florida Marine Tracks, CMOR Mapping, Standard Mapping, StrikeLines, Imray Digital Charts, and S-63 encrypted charts.
- Supports up to 10,000 waypoints, 250 routes, and 15 tracks for cruising, fishing, and longer passage planning.
Variants
This Axiom 2 12 range varies by LightHouse chart coverage, sonar configuration, and whether an RV-100 transducer is included. Chart options include No Chart, North America, Australia New Zealand, Northern Europe, Western Europe, and Mediterranean.
Sonar options include No Sonar and RealVision 3D Sonar. Transducer options include No Transducer and RV-100 Transducer, with the RV-100 appearing only on RealVision 3D Sonar configurations in this variant set.
Installation and setup
For planning a helm installation, the Axiom 2 12 measures 314 mm wide by 217 mm high by 178 mm deep including cables when trunnion mounted. For surface or flush mounting, the listed size is 314 mm wide by 226.72 mm high by 178 mm deep including cables. Leave service access behind the display for the power, NMEA 2000, RayNet, and transducer connections, especially on enclosed dashboards where cable bend radius and ventilation space can become tight.
The display can be trunnion mounted for adjustable viewing at an open console or surface mounted into a dash for a cleaner helm layout. The IPX6 and IPX7 rating makes it suitable for exposed marine locations, but the installation should still protect connectors and cable runs from standing water, sharp edges, and strain from vibration.
Electrical and system integration
This chartplotter belongs on a 12 V dc boat system, not a 24 V-only circuit unless the installation uses an appropriate dc conversion setup. The power and NMEA 2000 cable includes a 1.5 m power lead and a 0.5 m NMEA 2000 lead, so many installations will need a properly planned backbone connection rather than a loose point-to-point wiring approach.
RayNet Ethernet is the connection to consider when the display will share data with compatible radar, sonar, video, or additional Axiom displays. NMEA 2000 is the path for engine and vessel data, while Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support onboard wireless functions and app-based workflows where the system setup allows them.
Use cases on board
This 12-inch Axiom 2 suits center consoles, pilothouses, cruisers, sailboats, and fishing boats where the helm needs a screen large enough for chart, sonar, radar, and data panels without constant page switching. Chartplotter-only versions make sense for navigation-focused installations, while RealVision 3D Sonar versions fit boats where bottom detail, structure, and fish-finding views matter.

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
