Overview
The TACO Marine T10-3000-5 is a fixed rod holder mount for attaching a ShadeFin shade system to a compatible boat rod holder. It is made from high-polished Type-304 stainless steel and uses a locking knob, nylon sleeve, self-aligning notch, and pin-locking hole to help keep the ShadeFin connection secure while the boat is at rest or underway in normal operating conditions.
This mount is mainly suited for firmly welded T-top rod holders. It can also be used with a gunnel rod holder when the proper adapter is used, or with the Telescopic Rod Holder Accessory when that separate accessory is part of the setup. For owners adding portable shade to a center console, fishing boat, or cruiser, it gives the ShadeFin a fixed mounting point without adding a permanent deck or hardtop bracket.
Key features
- Fixed mount for TACO Marine ShadeFin systems using compatible rod holder locations on board
- Fits standard T-top rod holders when the rod holder is firmly welded and able to accept the mount
- High-polished Type-304 stainless steel construction for a clean finish in exposed marine spaces
- Locking knob helps secure the mount in the rod holder once the butt end is seated
- Nylon sleeve helps reduce movement when the rod holder opening is larger than the mount shaft
- Gimbal-slot butt end mates with the rod holder pin for proper seating
- Self-aligning notch and pin-locking hole help guide and retain the ShadeFin mounting post
- Covered by a 3-year limited warranty
Compatibility and fit
The mount is intended for use with ShadeFin and a suitable rod holder location. In a T-top installation, the rod holder should be firmly welded before the ShadeFin is mounted. For gunnel rod holder installations, the correct adapter is required so the mount is seated properly and the threads are not damaged.
The fit depends on the rod holder opening, the internal gimbal pin, and the ability to tighten the locking knob at the bottom of the mount. The included nylon sleeve is useful where the rod holder opening has extra clearance around the mount shaft, helping take up space and reduce unwanted movement.
Installation and setup
Installation starts by removing the locking knob, placing the beveled nylon sleeve on the mount leg, and sliding the gimbal butt end into the rod holder so it engages with the rod holder pin. Once the sleeve is seated, the locking knob is tightened until the mount has no wiggle room.
After the mount is secured in the rod holder, the ShadeFin mounting post slides into the open end of the mount. The alignment pin guides the post into position, and the locking pin should pass through the locking hole before the ShadeFin is opened.
Use on board
This mount is a practical match for boaters who already have a suitable rod holder and want a removable shade position without drilling a new permanent mount into the deck, gunwale, or hardtop. It works well for adding shade over a cockpit, helm area, fishing station, or lounging space where the ShadeFin location lines up with an existing rod holder.
Maintenance and care
After saltwater use, rinse the mount with fresh water and wipe away salt around the locking knob, sleeve, and pin-locking area. Keeping the sleeve clean and checking that the locking knob turns freely will make setup easier and help the mount seat properly each time it is used.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
