Overview

The Attwood Marine 7518A3 is a T-handle drain plug for 1 inch diameter drains. A clockwise turn of the handle expands the plug to lock it in place, and a counterclockwise turn releases it for draining or removal.

This version uses stainless steel for the T-handle, shaft, and washers, and it comes without a chain. It suits boats that already use this expandable 1 inch drain plug style and need a straightforward replacement that can be opened and closed by hand.

Compatibility and fit

Check the drain opening on the boat before ordering. This plug is sized for a 1 inch drain and works with drain tubes or openings made for expandable T-handle plugs. It is not the same style as a threaded garboard plug, so the receiver on the boat needs to match this plug type.

Installation and use

Insert the plug fully into the drain tube and tighten the T-handle until it seats firmly. When it is time to drain or remove the plug, turn the handle back the other way and pull it free. That hand-operated setup is useful on boats that are launched and hauled often and need quick access to the drain without tools.
