Overview
The TACO Marine P05 Series is a range of 2' Trailer Glyde Slicks made for boat trailer bunks where easier launching and loading matter. These white slicks mount to carpeted or bare bunks and reduce friction between the hull and runners, helping the boat move more smoothly at the ramp while keeping weight spread along the bunk surface.
Each slick measures 2' long, 1-5/8" wide, and 7/16" thick. The range is offered as 6-piece and 8-piece standard kits, giving trailer owners a straightforward way to match the amount of bunk coverage to their setup. The slicks are suitable for aluminum, fiberglass, and wood boats and are intended for boats under 600 lb.
Key features
- Mounts on carpeted or bare trailer bunks to reduce hull-to-bunk friction during launch and retrieval.
- 2' length gives practical coverage for small boat trailers without using long one-piece bunk covers.
- 1-5/8" width and 7/16" thickness help confirm fit on common bunk layouts before installation.
- White finish keeps the slicks easy to see during trailer checks and ramp setup.
- Works with aluminum, fiberglass, and wood boats when used within the recommended boat weight range.
- Includes stainless steel screws and installation instructions for a cleaner bunk installation.
Variants
This product is offered in two standard configurations. Both variants use 2' white Trailer Glyde Slicks, with the piece count changing between kits.
The 6-piece kit gives a shorter coverage layout for smaller bunk setups, while the 8-piece kit adds two more slicks for longer or more distributed bunk contact. The listed dimensions and white finish remain consistent across the variants.
- P05-06W: Type 6 Standard Slicks. This configuration includes six 2' slicks for trailers that need moderate bunk coverage.
- P05-08W: Type 8 Standard Slicks. This configuration includes eight 2' slicks for trailers that need additional bunk coverage along the runners.
Installation and setup
The slicks fasten directly to the trailer bunks and can be installed over existing carpet or onto bare bunks. Positioning should keep the slicks aligned with the hull contact area so the boat rests evenly and does not catch on exposed bunk edges during loading.
Because these parts reduce friction, the bow eye and winch strap should stay secured whenever the boat is on the trailer, especially on sloped ramps or during launch preparation. After installation, check the fasteners and bunk contact points as part of normal trailer inspection.
Use cases on board
The P05 Series is a practical fit for small boats that are launched and retrieved often, including light fishing boats, tenders, skiffs, and other trailered boats within the stated weight guidance. It is most useful where sticky carpeted bunks, shallow ramps, or solo loading make hull movement harder than it needs to be.
