Overview
The Vimar Plana Series universal MASTER dimmer is a flush-mounted rotary dimmer for 230V, 50 Hz lighting circuits that need variable light control from a wall device. It uses phase-cut dimming and supports incandescent loads from 40 to 400 W, electronic transformers from 40 to 300 VA, CFL lamps from 10 to 200 W, and dimmable LED lamps or compatible LED phase-cut electronic transformers from 3 to 200 W.
It fits protected interior spaces on board where 230V AC lighting is already part of the vessel system, such as cabins, passageways, and saloon lighting points. The control combines rotary dimming with on and off switching, minimum brightness adjustment, and operation from the built-in control or from NO peripheral push buttons.

Variants
This range is offered in three finish options, all based on the same Plana universal MASTER dimmer platform.
The listed versions vary by visible finish and, in one case, by antibacterial treatment. The 230V, 50 Hz operating format, dimming ranges, flush-mounted body, and core control functions remain the same across these variants.
- VM14136.1.SL, Silver. This version suits installations where the visible controls need to match silver trim or metallic-toned faceplates.
- VM14136.1, White. This is the standard white version for clean integration with white Plana plates and interior switch positions.
- VM14136.AB.1, Antibacterial White. This version adds antibacterial treatment on the visible part, which can matter in shared interior spaces with frequent hand contact.
Installation and setup
The device mounts flush and uses click-in fastening, with a body size of 22.3 mm wide, 49 mm high, and 61.4 mm deep. It belongs in interior mounting points where the dimmer stays out of direct spray and washdown.
Before installation, match the lamp type and the total connected load to the supported range. This matters most when refitting older incandescent circuits with retrofit LEDs or when mixing transformer-fed loads into the same lighting plan.
Compatibility and fit
This dimmer is for 230V AC, 50 Hz systems, so it is intended for boats, dockside properties, or technical spaces that use shore-power style lighting circuits rather than 12V or 24V DC lighting runs. It works with universal and LED retrofit loads within the stated ratings and can be integrated where an NO peripheral push button is part of the control layout.
It is a sensible match for cabins, saloons, and other protected living spaces where lighting level matters as much as simple switching. Because the unit is IP40, it is better suited to enclosed interiors than exposed helm, cockpit, or deck locations.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
