Overview
The Garmin 010-02591-01 is a 5-inch keyed chartplotter and fishfinder combo that combines GPS charting with traditional CHIRP and ClearVü sonar when paired with the included GT20-TM transducer.
The WVGA 800 x 480 display is easy to read from the helm, and the unit runs on 9 to 18 Vdc (typical 12 V systems) with an IPX7 water rating for open-console use. A microSD card slot supports up to 1 TB for adding charts and moving data on and off the unit.
For inshore and nearshore fishing, it gives you the chart view you need to run a line and the sonar view you need to stay on structure. Built-in Wi-Fi supports wireless sharing with compatible ECHOMAP units and connects to a phone or tablet for app-based features and updates.

Installation and setup
Plan the install like you would any helm electronics: pick a location that stays visible while running and leaves room behind the unit for the cable bend and strain relief. The chartplotter body is 188 x 122 x 61.5 mm (about 7.9 x 4.8 x 2.4 in.), and the keyed face makes it practical when you do not want to rely on touch controls in chop.
Power the unit from a clean 12 VDC electronics feed and protect it with a 3 A fast-acting fuse. On the transducer side, mount the GT20-TM where it has clean water flow at speed and is clear of strakes, steps, and trailer bunks. Route the transducer cable away from high-current wiring runs to help keep the sonar picture stable.
Compatibility and fit
This setup fits well on skiffs, bay boats, small center consoles, and similar boats where dash space matters but you still want chart and sonar on one screen. The unit is rated IPX7 for incidental exposure and operates from -15 to 55 C (5 to 131 F), which covers most real-world coastal seasons.
Wireless sharing works best when the units have a clear path between them and stay within about 32 m (105 ft.). If you run multiple displays, keep in mind only two compatible ECHOMAP devices can be connected to each other wirelessly at one time.
On-the-water use
This is a solid match for anglers who run inshore and nearshore structure and want traditional sonar for fish arches plus ClearVü for reading bottom detail. It also suits cruisers who want a compact chartplotter at the helm with straightforward keyed controls and simple route and waypoint handling.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
