Overview
The Garmin 010-12770-00 is a Yamaha Engine Bus to J1939 adapter cable used to link a Yamaha Engine Bus Multi-Hub Assembly to the J1939/Engine port on compatible Garmin chartplotters. The cable is 1 m (3.3 ft) long, with a Yamaha 4-pin connection on the engine-bus side and a Micro-style connector on the Garmin side.
This is a data interface cable for Yamaha Command Link Plus systems, meant to bring Yamaha engine pages onto the chartplotter when the display supports the Yamaha J1939 engine interface. It connects to the chartplotter's J1939/Engine connector and must not be connected to a NMEA 2000 network.
On most installs, a separate Yamaha pigtail bus wire is used between this adapter and the Engine Bus multi-hub, which helps when the multi-hub is mounted away from the helm and you need the right run length for clean routing.
Key features
- Interfaces a Yamaha Engine Bus Multi-Hub Assembly to a Garmin chartplotter J1939/Engine port for Yamaha engine integration on supported displays.
- 1 m (3.3 ft) adapter cable length for a tidy helm-side connection.
- Connector ends: Yamaha 4-pin and Micro-style connector for the Garmin J1939/Engine connection point.
- Built for Yamaha Command Link Plus engine bus installations.
- Requires a Yamaha pigtail bus wire (sold separately) to complete the connection to the multi-hub.
- Not a NMEA 2000 backbone cable and should not be plugged into the NMEA 2000 network.
Compatibility and fit
This cable is intended for boats with a Yamaha Engine Bus Multi-Hub Assembly on a Command Link Plus system and a compatible Garmin chartplotter that has a dedicated J1939/Engine connector. If your Yamaha system uses a different hub style or connector family, match the engine-bus side first before ordering.
Chartplotter compatibility is tied to units that support the Yamaha J1939 engine interface; common use is with J1939-equipped GPSMAP 7400/7600/8400/8600 series installations.
Installation and setup
Connect the Garmin end to the chartplotter's J1939/Engine connector, then connect the Yamaha end to the Engine Bus multi-hub using the separate Yamaha pigtail bus wire. Route the cable away from ignition components, high-current conductors, and sharp bends, and secure it so the connectors are not carrying strain from vibration.
If your multi-hub device ports are already full, the engine-bus layout may need an additional hub to free up a port for this connection.
Electrical and system integration
This adapter is for engine data integration, not for powering the chartplotter or expanding a NMEA 2000 backbone. It is meant to live on the chartplotter's J1939/Engine connection point and is kept separate from any NMEA 2000 cabling on board.
Use cases on board
This cable is a good fit for Yamaha-powered boats where you want Yamaha engine pages and related touchscreen functions on the helm chartplotter without adding another dedicated engine display. It is commonly used on center consoles and dual-station boats where dash space is tight and clean wiring matters.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
