Overview
The Vimar 8000 blanking plate is a 3-module cover plate for closing an unused opening in a compatible mounting box and frame. Across the range, it uses snap fixing, fits mounting frame 08531 or 08531.S, and can be installed in either horizontal or vertical orientation. Height is 75.5 mm and depth is 6 mm, with width varying between 123 mm on the ivory version and 120 mm on the bronze and gold versions.
On board, this type of plate is used to finish a panel neatly when a switch, socket, or accessory is not being fitted in that position. It suits protected interior locations such as cabin panels, helm consoles under cover, and built-in service areas where the front face is not exposed to spray, since the plate itself is rated IP00.
The finish depends on the version. The ivory plate uses halogen-free thermoplastic resin with a matt surface, while the bronze and gold plates use anodized aluminium with a matt finish.

Variants
This product is offered in three finish and color configurations.
What changes between variants is the surface finish, base material, color, and overall width. The core layout stays the same across the range: each version is a 3-module blanking plate with snap fixing for frame 08531 or 08531.S, can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and has a height of 75.5 mm with a depth of 6 mm.
- VM08660.A - Color Ivory. Thermoplastic resin with a matt untreated surface and a white tone similar to RAL 9010. Width is 123 mm. This version suits lighter switch surrounds and other interior trim that uses ivory or off-white finishes.
- VM08660.BR - Color Bronze. Anodized aluminium with a matt finish and a bronze tone similar to RAL 1036. Width is 120 mm. This version gives the panel a darker metallic look where bronze trim or hardware is already present.
- VM08660 - Color Gold. Anodized aluminium with a matt finish and a gold tone similar to RAL 1035. Width is 120 mm. This version keeps the same mounting format as the bronze plate with a warmer metallic appearance.
Compatibility and fit
This plate is part of the Vimar 8000 wiring device format and is meant for 3-module mounting boxes used with frame 08531 or 08531.S. It can be used in vertical or horizontal arrangements, which is useful when closing a spare position in a cabin switch bank or leaving space for a future circuit in a refit.
Because it is a face plate rather than a sealed enclosure component, it belongs in protected installations. For marine work, that usually means interior bulkheads, cabin furniture, enclosed helm panels, and similar locations rather than open deck areas or washdown zones.
Use on board
This is a good match for builders and refit teams who want unused module positions to look finished instead of leaving an opening in the panel. It also works well when a layout may change later and a spare module space needs to stay covered until another device is added.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
