Overview

The Garmin 010-01031-00 is a GTM 60 HD Digital Traffic Receiver and vehicle power cable that adds Digital 3D Traffic to compatible Garmin nüvi navigators while powering the unit from a 12-volt accessory socket.

It uses Garmin 3D Traffic and Digital Traffic delivered through the HD Radio broadcasting system to provide traffic alerts in North America, with updates that can arrive up to 10 times faster than traditional traffic receivers. Traffic alerts are subscription-free and ad-free for the useful life of the Garmin product, and traffic content is not available in all areas.

This is an on-road accessory rather than a marine navigation input, but it is useful for boaters who trailer or travel by vehicle to the marina and want traffic-aware routing on the way to the ramp, yard, or service shop.

Key features
  • Combination traffic receiver and 12-volt power adapter for compatible Garmin automotive navigators
  • Digital 3D Traffic using Garmin 3D Traffic and Digital Traffic delivered through the HD Radio broadcasting system
  • Traffic alerts for North America, with update speed listed as up to 10 times faster than traditional traffic receivers
  • Subscription-free, advertising-free lifetime traffic alerts for the useful life of the Garmin product
  • Traffic subscription activates automatically after the GPS device has satellite lock while receiving traffic signals
  • Initial traffic acquisition can take up to five minutes after connection to power
Compatibility and fit

This traffic receiver and power cable is intended for select Garmin nüvi models that support the GTM 60, including units in the nüvi 2400 and 3400 series. Common compatible examples include nüvi 2455LT, 2455LMT, 2475LT, 2495LMT, 2555LT, 2555LMT, 2595LMT, 3450, 3450LM, and 3490LMT. If your navigator has traffic built into the device, it may not use a GTM cable, so match accessories to your exact model before ordering.

Installation and setup

Replace the standard vehicle power cable on your navigator with the GTM 60 cable, then plug the adapter into a 12-volt accessory socket. After the GPS unit has satellite reception and the cable is receiving traffic signals, traffic data begins to populate and the subscription activates automatically.

For the first start-up in a new area, allow up to five minutes for traffic acquisition. For best reception, keep the cable routed away from heavy metal obstructions and avoid coiling excess length tightly around other power wiring.

Use cases on board

This is a good match for boat owners who rely on a compatible Garmin nüvi in a tow vehicle, RV, or runabout car for trips to launches and marinas where traffic delays can throw off tides, reservations, or service appointments. It is also useful for crews who shuttle between the dock and home base and want live traffic awareness during the drive.

Maintenance and care

Keep the connectors clean and dry, and avoid placing the cable where it will sit in standing water or take direct spray. If it is used around a marine environment, wipe down the plug ends after humid or salty exposure and route the cable so it does not chafe on sharp edges or pinch points.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
