Overview

The Garmin 010-11654-06 is a marine mounting kit that secures a compatible Montana-series handheld GPS at the helm while supplying hardwired power from your boat. It’s built for installations where you want the same handheld you use on shore to live on the console in rough water without relying on internal batteries.

The power lead connects to 10 to 50 V DC ship’s power, which covers typical 12 V and 24 V systems. The cable also provides serial data leads and a stereo jack for setups that use them, and the kit includes anti-glare screen protectors to help readability when sunlight and spray make the display harder to see.

Key features
  • Hardwired power connection for boat systems from 10 to 50 V DC.
  • Cradle and swivel-style mount hardware that lets you set a viewing angle at the helm.
  • Serial data leads provided in the cable (yellow input, blue output, green ground) for compatible connections that use serial wiring.
  • Stereo jack on the cable for audio output where supported by the connected device.
  • Anti-glare screen protectors included to reduce reflections on open consoles and in bright cockpit light.
  • Contact cover on the mount to help keep the cradle contacts protected when the device is removed between trips.
What’s included
  • Marine mount and cradle assembly
  • Power cable with bare-wire leads, serial data leads, and stereo jack
  • Anti-glare screen protectors
Compatibility and fit

This mount is used with Garmin handheld units in the Montana 600 family and related models, including Montana 600, 600t, 610, 610t, 650, 650t, 680, 680t, and Monterra. It is also used with GPSMAP 276Cx. If your device has the same back-side cradle interface as these models, it will seat and lock into the mount correctly; if it does not, it will not.

Installation and wiring

Plan a mounting spot with a clear view of the screen and enough space for cable routing, with about 3 inches of clearance behind the mount for the cable bend and strain relief. The swivel base is typically secured with three #8 pan-head fasteners; avoid countersunk heads that can stress the bracket. Mounting hardware is not included, so match screws or bolts to your console material and thickness.

Wire the red and black leads to your boat’s main DC supply (10 to 50 V DC). If you are not using the serial data wires or audio connection, cap and secure them so they cannot short or chafe. Keep the mount and device contacts dry during installation and when swapping the handheld on and off the boat.

Use on board

This setup makes sense for skippers who move a handheld between a truck, a kayak, and the boat, but still want a stable, powered mount on the console for longer runs. It also fits smaller center consoles and sailboat cockpits where a fixed chartplotter is not the plan, but you still want the GPS in the same spot every trip.

Maintenance and care

After saltwater use, wipe down the cradle area and keep the contact cover in place when the handheld is off the boat. Check the cable for chafe where it passes through the console, and make sure the mount stays tight as the boat sees vibration over time.

We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
