Overview

The Hella Marine 002957801 is a 4-pole plug and socket deck connector for bringing four conductors through a deck or bulkhead and disconnecting them cleanly for service or removal. It is rated for a maximum load of 10A at 12V and uses chrome-plated brass housings with brass contacts for a connection that stands up well in a damp marine environment.

The socket is supplied with a protective cover for when the plug is not in place, and the plug is sized for cables up to 6.5 mm outer diameter. Wiring is via screw terminals, so you can land your conductors without special crimp pins and re-terminate later if your rigging changes.

Key features
  • 4-pole plug and socket set for four separate circuits through a deck or bulkhead pass-through
  • Maximum load rating of 10A at 12V for typical onboard accessory circuits
  • Chrome-plated brass housings with brass contacts
  • Screw terminal connections for straightforward installation and servicing
  • Protective cover on the socket to help keep spray out when disconnected
  • Plug accepts cable jackets up to 6.5 mm outer diameter
Installation and setup

This connector is commonly mounted where you need a tidy disconnect point, such as a transom, hardtop, deck edge, or mast base. Bed the socket properly and route wiring with a drip loop on the interior side so water cannot track along the conductors into the boat.

Label the four conductors before termination, tighten the screw terminals firmly, and add strain relief so vibration and cable movement are not carried by the terminals.

Compatibility and electrical use

Use it on 12V DC circuits up to the 10A maximum load rating. It suits lighting circuits, low-current accessories, and control wiring, rather than high-draw loads with large inrush currents.

Before ordering, confirm you need four conductors and that your cable jacket fits the 6.5 mm maximum outer diameter at the plug.

Use cases on board

It is a solid fit for sailboats with a removable mast wiring harness, powerboats with detachable hardtops, and any installation where a light bar, deck wash, or accessory panel needs to unplug for service. It also works well for connections that are unplugged regularly, where keeping wiring organized matters.

Maintenance and care

Keep the cover closed when the connector is not in use and rinse away salt after heavy exposure. If the connection ever feels gritty or intermittent, disconnect and clean the contacts before reassembling.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
