Overview
The Hella Marine 003562115 is a stern navigation lamp with a white housing for 12V boats, using an incandescent 12V 10W SV8.5 bulb and a 2 nautical mile visible range. It mounts vertically on a flat surface at the aft end of the boat and routes wiring through the base with a rubber-grommet entry.
The housing and lens are UV and impact resistant plastic with an IP54 rating, and the construction is non-magnetic and saltwater resistant. Its snap-lock housing opens for quick bulb access without tools, which is handy when a globe needs replacing at the dock or between night runs.
At roughly 3 in high, 2.5 in wide, and 2.06 in deep, it fits well on transoms and other tight stern locations where you want a clean, low-profile light that is easy to service.
Key features
- White stern navigation light rated for 2 nautical mile visibility
- 12V incandescent lamp with a 12V 10W SV8.5 bulb
- Vertical surface-mount format for transoms and other flat stern faces
- Snap-lock housing for tool-free bulb access
- Cable entry through the base plate with a rubber grommet to protect wiring
- UV and impact resistant plastic housing and lens with an IP54 rating
- Non-magnetic, saltwater resistant build to reduce compass interference and stand up to marine exposure
Compatibility and fit
This light is for 12V DC navigation-light circuits. Plan the mounting position so the lens has a clear view aft and is not blocked by swim steps, davits, outboard cowls, or stern rails that could shadow the light underway.
It is a good match for boaters who want a vertical stern light in a compact footprint and prefer simple bulb access for routine maintenance.
Installation and wiring
Mount the base on a flat, vertical surface and route the conductors through the base opening. The through-base cable entry helps keep the wiring tidy and reduces exposure at the exit point, especially when paired with marine-grade cable protection and properly sealed fasteners.
Connect to your existing navigation light switch or breaker and make terminations with marine-grade connectors and heat-shrink where appropriate. After installation, verify the light is secure and properly aligned, then check operation from the helm.
Compliance and approvals
This stern lamp carries approvals for IMO Col Reg 72 and is also approved to USCG and ABYC A-16, with additional approval markings including RINA and Maritime NZ.
Maintenance and bulb service
Keep the lens clean so the light output stays crisp at night, especially after salt spray and soot from the exhaust settles on the stern. When the bulb needs replacement, open the snap-lock housing, swap the globe, and inspect the wiring entry and seals before closing the unit back up.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team.
