Overview
The Victron Energy Lithium Battery Smart is a LiFePO4 battery range for 12 V, 24 V and 48 V DC power systems on boats, available in 12.8 V and 25.6 V configurations with capacities from 50 Ah to 330 Ah depending on the selected model.
These batteries use lithium iron phosphate chemistry and include integrated cell balancing and cell monitoring. Built-in Bluetooth lets you check cell voltage, temperature and alarm status through VictronConnect, which is useful when the battery bank is installed in a locker, machinery space or other protected location where quick access is not always convenient.
Each battery must be used with a compatible Victron Battery Management System. The battery platform supports series, parallel and series-parallel connection, so it can be built into house banks for coastal cruising, offshore electrical loads, fishing electronics, refrigeration, inverters and other onboard DC systems when the full installation is planned correctly.
Key features
- LiFePO4 chemistry gives high usable energy with 92% round-trip efficiency.
- Integrated cell balancing and cell monitoring help the battery bank stay within safe operating limits when paired with the correct BMS.
- Bluetooth monitoring through VictronConnect shows cell voltage, temperature and alarm status without opening the battery compartment.
- Series and parallel connection support allows system layouts for 12 V, 24 V and 48 V installations.
- Available as 12.8 V models from 50 Ah to 330 Ah and 25.6 V models at 100 Ah and 200 Ah.
- Cycle life is rated at 2500 cycles at 80% depth of discharge, 3000 cycles at 70% depth of discharge and 5000 cycles at 50% depth of discharge.
- Operating range covers discharge from -20°C to +50°C and charge from +5°C to +50°C.
- IP22 protection makes the battery suitable for dry, protected onboard compartments rather than exposed deck or wet bilge locations.
Variants
This range varies by nominal voltage, nominal capacity and official battery model. The 12.8 V options suit 12 V battery banks directly and can also be combined for higher-voltage banks, while the 25.6 V options are intended for 24 V systems without building the bank from separate 12 V units.
The Smart platform, LiFePO4 chemistry, Bluetooth monitoring, integrated cell balancing and requirement for a compatible Victron BMS apply across the range. Capacity selection affects available stored energy, physical size, weight and charge or discharge planning for the vessel.
Electrical and system integration
A compatible Victron BMS is not optional with this battery range. The BMS manages cell-level protection by controlling charging and loads when cell voltage or temperature moves outside the safe range. This matters on boats with alternator charging, solar charging, shore-powered chargers, inverter chargers and mixed DC loads connected to the same battery bank.
For marine installations, the BMS, charger settings, cable sizing, overcurrent protection and battery monitor setup should be planned as one system. Matching the battery capacity to the inverter size, alternator output, solar array and daily house loads helps avoid nuisance shutdowns and gives the bank a better service life.
Installation and mounting
Install the battery in a dry, secure and ventilated compartment that is protected from spray, standing water and direct engine heat. The IP22 enclosure is not intended for open-deck exposure or a wet bilge area, so the mounting location should keep the terminals and BMS cabling clean and accessible for inspection.
The cell balancing and monitoring cables can be daisy-chained when multiple batteries are used. In a multi-battery bank, keep cable runs neat, protect them from chafe and leave enough service access to inspect terminals, BMS connections and nearby fusing.
Use cases on board
This battery range is a good match for boats moving from lead-acid house banks to lithium power where lower weight, higher usable capacity and fast system feedback are important. It suits house battery banks for cruising sailboats, powerboats, fishing boats and workboats with electronics, pumps, refrigeration, lighting and inverter loads.
Because lithium batteries interact closely with alternators, chargers and protection devices, this product is best used as part of a complete Victron-based power system rather than as a standalone battery swap.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
