Overview
The Perko Fig. 1048 is a 2-pin plug-in pole light mounting base for Perko all-round pole lights that use a 3/4 in. threaded collar pole. It is built for deck or gunwale mounting where a removable navigation light pole needs a secure electrical base and a clean finished appearance when the pole is not installed.
This base uses a 5-degree pole rake, pigtail leads, and a water-resistant slide cover to help protect the socket when the light is removed. The base measures 3-1/2 in. x 2 in. and uses #8 mounting screws, which gives installers useful reference points before cutting, drilling, or replacing an existing base.
Key features
- 2-pin plug-in base for compatible Perko all-round pole lights with a threaded collar
- Fits 3/4 in. pole lights in Perko Figs. 1343, 1347, 1348, 1349, 1451, 1470, 1622, 1624, and 1656 series
- 5-degree pole rake supports the intended light angle when mounted on a flat deck or cap surface
- Water-resistant slide cover helps shield the socket when the pole light is removed
- Pigtail leads make the electrical connection straightforward during replacement or new installation
- 3-1/2 in. x 2 in. base footprint with #8 screw mounting for installation planning
- Available with chrome plated brass and black polymer or stainless steel and black polymer finish combinations
Variants
This pole light base is offered in two finish configurations. Both variants are the same Fig. 1048 2-pin plug-in base style for 3/4 in. threaded collar pole lights.
The finish is the main difference between the variants. The chrome plated brass version gives the base a bright hardware look, while the stainless steel version suits installations where matching other stainless deck fittings is important.
- 1048P00DP: Chrome plated finish. This version pairs chrome plated brass with black polymer for a classic polished deck hardware appearance.
- 1048P0SDP: Stainless steel finish. This version pairs stainless steel with black polymer for a look that matches many rails, cleats, and other stainless fittings on board.
Installation and fit
Before installation, match the base to the pole light style, pin count, and threaded collar connection already used on the boat. This is especially important when replacing an older navigation light base, because a 2-pin base must be used with a compatible 2-pin pole light rather than a different plug pattern.
The pigtail leads connect into the boat’s navigation light circuit, and the water-resistant slide cover should remain closed when the pole is removed. Mount the base where the pole light has the required visibility and where the underside of the mounting surface allows clean wiring access.
Use on board
This base is a practical fit for boats that use a removable all-round light for anchoring, running light configurations, or stern light setups, depending on the vessel’s lighting layout. It works well as a replacement base when the existing socket, finish, or cover is worn, or as part of a new installation using compatible Perko pole lights.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
