Overview
The Perko Mini Mount Plug-In Type Base is a compact deck base for plug-in pole navigation lights on boats under 20 meters. It gives the pole light a low-profile mounting point with a black polymer base, pigtail leads, gold plated contacts, and a waterproof snap-on cover to help protect the socket when the light pole is removed.
This Fig. 1049 base has a 1-15/16 in. outside base dimension and a 0° tube angle, which are useful checks when replacing an existing base or matching the footprint on a deck, gunwale, or transom area. The range includes 2-pin and 3-pin versions, with black or chrome/black cap styling depending on the variant.
Key features
- Plug-in base for Perko pole navigation lights, suited to all-round and bi-color pole light installations where a removable pole is used.
- Available with 2-pin or 3-pin contact layouts, so the pin count can be matched to the existing pole light and wiring.
- Black polymer base with pigtail leads for a straightforward electrical connection during installation or replacement.
- Gold plated contacts help maintain a clean electrical connection in a marine lighting socket.
- Waterproof snap-on cover protects the base opening when the pole light is not installed.
- 1-15/16 in. outside base dimension and 0° tube angle help confirm deck fit before installation.
- Black and chrome/black cap options let the base match practical deck hardware or a brighter trim look.
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations so the base can be matched to the pole light connection and the visible cap style on board.
The main differences are the cap type and the number of pins. The black polymer base, pigtail leads, gold plated contacts, waterproof snap-on cover, 1-15/16 in. outside base dimension, and 0° tube angle remain consistent across these listed configurations.
- 1049P00DPC: Chrome/black cap type with 2 pins. The chrome/black cap gives the exposed fitting a brighter trim appearance while keeping the base black, and the 2-pin layout is for matching a 2-pin pole light connection.
- 1049P00DPB: Black cap type with 2 pins. The all-black cap keeps the fitting visually low-key on dark hardware or darker deck areas, with a 2-pin layout for compatible pole lights.
- 10493B0DPB: Black cap type with 3 pins. This version keeps the same low-key black appearance and uses a 3-pin layout for pole lights that require the extra contact.
- 10493B0DPC: Chrome/black cap type with 3 pins. The chrome/black cap adds a brighter visible insert, while the 3-pin layout matches pole lights wired for three contacts.
Installation and fit
Before replacing a base, compare the existing pole light pin count, tube angle, and deck opening to the selected variant. The 0° tube angle is intended for a straight upright pole position, so it is best matched to installations where the navigation light should stand vertical from the mounting surface.
The pigtail leads simplify connection to the boat wiring, but the circuit should still be installed with proper marine wiring practices, corrosion-resistant terminations, and the correct overcurrent protection for the lighting circuit. On exposed decks, the snap-on cover should be closed whenever the pole light is removed to limit water and debris in the socket.
Use on board
This base is a practical fit for small powerboats, center consoles, runabouts, fishing boats, and sailboats that use removable pole navigation lights. It is most useful when the owner wants to replace a worn socket, refresh the cap style, or match a new pole light to an existing Perko-style mini mount location.
