Overview
The Perko 0338 Wedge Base Bulb is a 12V replacement bulb for many Perko navigation light fixtures, with 5W and 9W configurations available. It is supplied as a pair, which is practical for replacing matching bulbs or keeping a spare on board for a light that still uses this wedge base format.
Because wedge base bulbs rely on physical fit as well as voltage, the bulb size should be matched to the existing fixture before installation. The 5W version draws 0.35A and measures 13/32 inch in diameter by 1-1/16 inch long, while the 9W version draws 0.69A and measures 5/8 inch in diameter by 1-1/2 inch long.
Key features
- 12V wedge base replacement bulb range for compatible Perko navigation light fixtures
- Sold as a pair, useful for replacing matching bulbs or carrying an onboard spare
- Available in 5W at 0.35A or 9W at 0.69A
- Bulb diameter and length vary by wattage, so fixture clearance should be checked before ordering
- Direct replacement format for boats that continue to use compatible Perko navigation light housings
Variants
This range is offered in two 12V configurations. The wattage, amperage, bulb diameter, and bulb length change between variants, while both versions use a wedge base and are supplied as pairs.
The difference matters for both current draw and physical fit inside the light housing, especially where lens clearance is limited or the fixture requires a specific bulb size.
- 0338DP1CLR: 5W, 0.35A, 13/32 inch diameter, 1-1/16 inch length. This is the lower draw option in the range and matches fixtures that require the smaller 5W bulb size.
- 0338DP2CLR: 9W, 0.69A, 5/8 inch diameter, 1-1/2 inch length. This version uses a larger bulb envelope and higher current draw, so the original bulb rating and fixture space should be checked.
What's included
- Two 12V wedge base bulbs in the selected wattage
Installation and fit
Turn power off at the light circuit before removing the lens or bulb. Match the replacement to the fixture label or the markings on the existing bulb, then seat the wedge base fully so vibration from running or trailering does not loosen the contact.
These bulbs are a good match for owners maintaining Perko navigation lights on runabouts, center consoles, sailboats, and other 12V boats where the original bulb format is still required.
Maintenance and care
Use the same voltage and wattage specified for the light housing, since the wrong bulb can affect output, heat, or fit. When the lens is open, clean salt residue from the contact area and inspect the gasket before reassembly so the fixture remains ready for spray and weather on deck.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
