Overview
The Vimar PLANA is a 2P+E 16 A, 250 V~ SICURY socket outlet for polarized Euro-American plugs in a 2-module format. It is a flush-mounted insert for interior AC power points on board, giving you a tidy receptacle where you need shore power or inverter power in areas like the cabin, saloon, or nav station.
It is rated 16 A at up to 250 V~ (50-60 Hz) and the insert is IP20, so it belongs in spaces that stay dry and protected rather than exposed cockpit or deck locations. The device depth is 36 mm, which helps when checking clearance behind liners, cabinetry, and bulkhead panels.
Key features
- 16 A, 250 V~ rating (50-60 Hz) for onboard AC circuits within those limits
- Polarized Euro-American outlet format for mixed plug use
- 2-module insert size for the Vimar PLANA modular system
- Flush-mounted installation for a clean finish on interior panels
- Enhanced contact protection (SICURY) for safer day-to-day use
- Screw-terminal connections for secure conductor clamping
- IP20 protection level for indoor, protected locations
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with a built-in label space for circuit identification
Variants
This outlet is offered in multiple finish options while keeping the same electrical function and module size.
Across the range, the rating (16 A, 250 V~), 2-module PLANA format, and flush-mount installation stay the same. The visible finish is what changes.
- VM14248: Finish White (glossy, RAL 9003). A straightforward match for white PLANA trim and light interior liners.
- VM14248.SL: Finish Silver. Works well with silver-toned frames or panels where white would stand out.
Compatibility and fit
This is a 2-module device in the Vimar PLANA system. Match it with a compatible PLANA frame and cover plate, and confirm the mounting box and cavity depth allow room for the outlet body plus conductor bend radius.
The insert measures approximately 44.8 mm wide by 49.0 mm high at the device face, which is useful when planning spacing on a refit switch panel or a new interior bulkhead layout.
Installation and wiring
The outlet uses screw terminals and includes the earth connection (2P+E). On a boat, it should be wired on a properly protected AC branch circuit and installed so the polarized layout aligns with your system’s intended line and neutral orientation.
Because the unit is IP20, avoid locations that see washdowns, spray, or persistent condensation. If the area can get damp, use a protected enclosure strategy or place the outlet on a drier interior bulkhead.
Use on board
This outlet is a good match for cruisers and workboats that want a single receptacle style in the PLANA modular system while accommodating common Euro and US plug types. The label space is helpful for marking outlets that are fed by different sources, such as shore power versus an inverter circuit.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
