Overview
The Perko Omega Series is a universal replacement LED white all-round pole light for power-driven vessels under 20 meters (65.6 ft.) in length. It is a 12V LED navigation light with USCG 2 NM certification, a 4.5 watt draw, and a 0.35 amp current rating, making it a practical upgrade for boats that need a plug-in all-round light with lower power use than older incandescent poles.
The Omega head uses a reduced-glare globe that keeps more light in the visibility zone, which helps reduce wasted light around the cockpit while still supporting visibility from above and in rough water. The head has a wide 40 degree adjustable range, so the light can be leveled across common base angles and many existing pole-light installations.
This DP packaged version includes both threaded and locking collars and uses two key-slot screw positions. That gives it a broad fit across Perko bases and many replacement situations where the goal is to keep the existing base and replace the pole light.
Key features
- LED white all-round navigation light for power-driven vessels under 20 meters (65.6 ft.) in length.
- USCG 2 NM certified visibility for compliant use when installed in the correct location and orientation.
- 12V LED operation with 4.5 watt power draw and 0.35 amp current rating.
- 3/4" straight anodized tube with a Stow-A-Way plug-in pole format.
- 40 degree adjustable head helps align the light horizontally across common base rakes.
- Reduced-glare globe helps limit light spill outside the intended visibility zone.
- Includes threaded and locking collars for wider replacement fit across existing pole-light bases.
- Gold-plated contacts support a cleaner electrical connection in a marine environment.
Variants
This Omega Series light is offered in two pole lengths. Both versions share the same LED all-round light design, 12V electrical specification, 3/4" straight anodized pole format, adjustable head, and DP package collar arrangement.
The difference between the variants is pole length, which affects how high the light sits above the mounting base. That matters most when checking visibility over biminis, outboards, passengers, railings, or other equipment near the stern.
- 1343DP4CHR: 36-inch pole length. This length suits installations where the mounting base already places the light high enough for clear all-round visibility without adding unnecessary pole height.
- 1343DP6CHR: 48-inch pole length. This length adds more height above the base, which can help when the light must clear nearby cockpit equipment, seating, or other obstructions.
Compatibility and fit
The locking collar fits Perko 1045, 1046, 1047, 1059, and 1060 two-pin bases, while the large threaded collar fits Perko 1048 two-pin bases. The two included collars and two screw positions also make this light useful for replacing many existing all-round pole lights without changing the base.
Before ordering, check the base style, pole diameter, electrical contacts, and the height needed for an unobstructed 360 degree light path. The light must sit where it can be seen from all required angles, not tucked behind canvas, hardtop supports, fishing gear, or an outboard cowling.
Installation and setup
The adjustable head should be leveled after the pole is seated in the base, especially when the base is mounted on a sloped deck, transom cap, or angled stern surface. A level all-round light is easier to see at the proper height and reduces the chance of glare pointing back toward the helm.
For replacement work, inspect the existing socket and contacts before installing the new pole. Corrosion, loose wiring, or a worn base can cause flicker even when the pole light itself is new, so it is worth cleaning and checking the base during the swap.
Use on board
This light is a good match for small powerboats, fishing boats, and runabouts that use a removable all-round pole light at the stern. It fits the common need for a white navigation light that can be stowed when the boat is not running at night, then plugged back in for evening returns, anchor lighting where applicable, or low-light operation.
