Overview

The Garmin 010-11428-03 is a protective cover for GPSMAP 7015 and GPSMAP 7215 displays, keeping the face of the unit covered when it is not in use.

At the helm, screens see salt residue, sun, dock dust, and the occasional bump from gear moving around the console. Putting the cover on after a run helps keep the display cleaner and reduces the chances of light scratches during day-to-day storage.

This is a model-specific cover meant for marina stays, trailering, and offseason storage when the electronics are exposed at the dash.

Compatibility and fit

Fit is specific to GPSMAP 7015 and GPSMAP 7215 models. If your display is a different GPSMAP size or a different series, the front profile can be different and the cover may not seat correctly.

It goes on the front of the unit, so it works best in helm layouts where you can easily reach the bezel to put the cover on and take it off.

Installation and day-to-day use

With the unit powered off, align the cover to the display face and press it into place. Remove it before powering up, and stow it somewhere clean so grit does not get trapped against the screen.

Maintenance and care

After salty runs, rinse the cover with fresh water and wipe it dry before reinstalling. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners that can hold grit and mark the display surface when the cover is put back on.

Use on board

This cover is a good match for boats that live outside, sit uncovered at the dock, or get trailered often. It also helps when the helm is exposed between trips and you want the display protected without wrapping the console.
