Overview
The Simrad NSX ULTRAWIDE is an ultrawide chartplotter and fishfinder display for helm installs where you want charting, sonar, and instruments on one screen. It uses a 1920 x 720 px touchscreen and is rated at over 1000 nits for bright conditions.
Power is 12 V DC (10 to 17 V) with a 3 A recommended fuse, and the unit is rated IPx6 and IPx7 for spray and washdowns. Networking and integration are handled through Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, Ethernet, USB, and a NMEA 2000 Micro-C port (1 LEN), with an internal 10 Hz GPS receiver built in.
For sonar, each configuration includes a 9-pin Xsonic sonar port that supports single-channel CHIRP at 50/200 kHz and works with HDI and Active Imaging transducers. Choose a configuration that includes an Active Imaging 3-in-1 transducer, or a display-only option if you are supplying the transducer separately.

Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations to match different helm layouts and sonar setups.
Configurations vary by screen size and whether an Active Imaging 3-in-1 transducer is included.
- 000-16216-001: Screen size 12 inch; Transducer Active Imaging 3-in-1. A compact ultrawide option when dash space is tighter and you want CHIRP, SideScan, and DownScan imaging from one transducer.
- 000-16213-001: Screen size 15 inch; Transducer Active Imaging 3-in-1. The larger display gives more room for split views, such as chart and sonar side-by-side.
- 000-16298-001: Screen size 15 inch; Transducer none. This configuration ships without a transducer, so sonar capability depends on the transducer you add to the system.
Compatibility and fit
NSX ULTRAWIDE is offered in 12 inch and 15 inch sizes. The 12 inch unit measures 337.0 mm wide x 147.9 mm high x 88.5 mm deep (no bracket, no suncover). The 15 inch unit measures 390.0 mm wide x 170.4 mm high x 88.5 mm deep (no bracket, no suncover). Both list a compass-safe distance of 50 cm.
Installation and setup
Mounting supports rear mount (bracket supplied) and bracket mount using an optional gimbal bracket. Plan cable routing for power, NMEA 2000, and any Ethernet accessories before finalizing the mounting location, especially on open helms where spray protection and service access matter.
Maximum power consumption is 19.8 W for the 12 inch model and 25 W for the 15 inch model (at 13.8 V), which helps when you are budgeting loads on a house battery and electronics bus.
Network and sonar integration
The NMEA 2000 connection is the clean path for sharing data such as engine parameters, heading sensors, tank levels, AIS data received over the network, and autopilot control when compatible components are installed. For sonar, the 9-pin Xsonic port supports single-channel CHIRP at 50/200 kHz and is compatible with HDI and Active Imaging transducers.
For storage and service tasks, the unit supports a MicroSD slot and USB-A, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth available for wireless connections alongside wired Ethernet networking.
Use on board
This display is a solid fit for anglers and cruisers who want a wider helm view for running chart, sonar, and instruments together without stacking multiple screens. It also makes sense for center consoles and pilothouses where the dash needs one clean cutout and straightforward network integration.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
